what is the best way to check your fuel tank for a leak? I've already replaced the fuel lines and still have problems. my truck has real erractic idling. the glow plug is good. also the temps on the .18tm are a little on the unstable side 220-270. something just doesn't seem right. thanks for any help.

One thing you can do is take the tank off the truck (keep the fuel lines on), dunk it in a sink of water and, while holding your finger over one end of the fuel line and holding the tank lid down, gently blow into the other. If you see bubbles, there's your leak.

You may want to check the O-ring on the tank lid and make sure it's in good shape and that the spring is holding it down to create a good seal.

If everything checks out, consider putting RTV sealant on your backplate and carb.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I would start by checking the lids o-ring. Hold the truck upside down and see if it drips at all. Also, are you running a fuel filter? I have had a few of those go bad and make for some weird temp readings.

The lid o-ring is a known problem with the Revo, open the lid and check, if it's stretched or distorted in anyway, 80 andabettin there's your problem. You can now get the tank o-rings by themselves in a 2 pack, part number 5362. Traxxas says they are the same just a different color but I and many others say bullshit, they feel different and have a different elasticity. Don't say otherwise on the Traxxas board or the Nazi Misbehavin will give you warning points. Anyway sorry for the little rant, hope the info helps. BTW, I also picked up a fuel tank rebuild kit and replaced the spring on mine, it seems to be stronger and provides a tighter seal.

thanks alot guys for the info!!! I will go with you suggestions and let you know how it turns out!!!
