RC Driving Style
So I was rolling with the New Revo yesterday evening in my front yard, when I got to excited and accidentally drove it right into my pond. I pulled it out of the water as fast as I could and ran to the garage to blow as much of the water off as I could with my compressor. The stearing and throttle servos seem to be working fine, but i can't get the ez start to turn over the engine. Guess I will need a new one of those. Any suggestions on what else I should do with the car? :whack:

I would take the ez start off and clean it up and see if it responds after you put it all together..

If you are luccky its just the ground wire or glow wire ..........if the wireing appears to be ok it may have fried the start motor......at that point just replace them both to be sure.

I don't think it's a problem with the E-Z start. I think the engine is hydro locked. Take out the glow plug and see if any water comes out.

I tell ya, I'd pull those servos out and take the cases off and make sure everything gets good and dry before running it again, same with the RX and the E-Z start system. They may work alright now, but down the road any corrosion that was allowed to set in will come back to haunt you. Better to be safe than sorry!

You will need to disassemble the engine and give it a good clean and lube job.

u tried turning over the engine after you had removed it from the pond wihtot even opening up the engine?

WOW.....

alright then.

you need to open your electronics, let them sit uner some seat or in front of a fan for a couple of hours. including the ez start, receiver, opti drive, and all servos.

u do need to open up that engine, flush it with wd-40

most of the guys/people who have replied have already stated this. and they and i am not joking. it needs to be done

well z400 thanks for all that brilliant insight. Just because he did not know that he had to open the engine and clean it out is no reason to make fun. This site is a friendly place for all, noobies all the way through the spectrum. So just because somebody didn't do the right thing you don't need to poop all over them.

This would be my first guess as well...been there and got the T-shirt. I pulled the plug and spun the motor. Then out came some water. It's probaly not the best way to do it but I was to lazy to tear the motor a part. So I dropped in some after run oil and never looked back. It's still running a year later.

Bets of luck

Pulled the plug and out came the water. Added some after run oil to the engine and dried all the parts I could think of. I will try to start it tomarrow. Thanks for all the feedback!:celebrate2:

no, i just think its amazing on how someone would try to start there engine after it was fully submerged in water..

but alright..i guess ur kind dinga ling.

Good luck with your revo man!

Its amazing that no one mentioned to take off the air filter and clean that sucker off. Also that would be one of the two points of entry for water. The other would be the pipe.

Lots of great suggestions. I would really take the engine apart and make sure there is no debris at all.The smallest piece of dirt can score the sleeve andyour engine is toast. Maintenance!!!!
