Ok hears my dilemma

I'm looking at doing alot of aluminium upgrade to the revo. i am having a hard time deciding between the integy arms and the hardcore racing ones. The hardcores are twice the price. I know the integy's are dicast and the hc's are machined but is it realy that much stonger? I meen anything should be stronger than the plastic one that are stock

I had the Integys on my tmaxx and never hard a problem with bending or cracking. Heres my take on Aluminium arms though: Pros, they are strong and look cool / Cons, they are heavier and they put alot of stress on the bulkheads. I would bet if you went to aluminium arms that you would have alot of problems with breaking alot of bulkheads. Thats just my input.
 
Indeed they would, but personaly I think I am going to wait untill RPM comes out with their plastic ones. I am not trying to talk you out of it at all, just letting you know what I think from experience.
 
Integy also makes graphite bulkheads. Whats your take on that?
 
Yeah, well its not the actual bulkhead, but the "tie bar" which will give a little extra strength to the area, but I think one would need some alloy bulkheads to make alloy arms a resonable set-up. Although, Their are a few members on here that do have aluminium arms on their REVOs, so maybe one of those guys will let you know how their trucks are holding up.
 
As a NON-aluminum arms Revo owner, here is my take on it.

I love the look of the aluminum arms, and the thought that I have the real 'tough' stuff for my MT, but then reality hits. I can buy the stock arms for 20%-30% of the cost of the after market arms, and if they break, that means something else, possibly more expensive or harder to take off/put on, did not break, such as the frame mounts and shocks/shock towers. Really, I view the plastic arms as a safeguard against more damage, kind of like preventitive maintenence.

That said, I recently picked up a brand new T-Maxx, so I will modify that thing and leave the Revo mostly stock.
 
Davin, if you mean why keep the Revo mostly stock, it is because it runs and handles so well as is that I do not see the need right now. Also, the Revo was my first R/C car ever so I bought the T-Maxx to modify and learn more from and then any tricks or proven upgrades will be incorporated into the Revo. I have a few mods for the Revo, such as the Hurricane wheels mounted with the Sporttraxx tires, and a fuel tank guard. I plan to do a few more, but none in particular are identified as of yet.

One thing I have learned is that the 2.5R motor, if broken in according to the manual, is a real screamer, sufficient enough for amateurs like me. I do not plan to race, or if I do it will be in amateur classes, and the rest of time just general bashing.
 
Aluminum looks cool, but I've only broken one a-arm on my Revo's and changed it out in about 15 M. At $5-6.00 a pair you can't go wrong w/ stock and their strong too!
 
Planning to race? If so, I don't think the weight of the aluminum would be worth it. The stock are pretty strong for plastic and if your racing you should be keeping it on the track.
