I am going on vacation starting this weekend! i will be going to the beach and wanted to know what you guys think on taking my revo and tearing up some sand dunes! do you guys think its safe or dont risk on taking it! i really really want to take out on the beach but just dont know if it is worth it! :\

I take my Maxx to the beach all the time. Just make sure you cinch the air filter down with a zip tie and balloon the electronics. Also, make sure you clean it off really good afterward, and NEVER run in dirt/sand/anything else without a fuel filter. Two filters!

+1 on the cleaning and the zip tie on the air filter, good suggestions! Sand likes to get into ALL the tiny crevices, an air compressor is your best friend after the dunes. Your bearings are especially at risk for sand damage if it's not cleaned properly.

I run dual fuel filters on my Maxx. Besides keeping that extra bit of dirt out it also doubles as a fuel reservoir. It can go upside down for almost a minute.

Yeah, I use my dad's compressor and a ball needle to blow the sand off (the thin needle helps to get in tiny crevices) The Maxx's bearings are all sealed which should keep almost all sand out.

you guys are awsome! quick responses and great information! thanks you all for your time and info. I'm still a little nervous but i have three days to decide! might just get the big daddy fuel filter, zip tie my air filter, ballon the electronics and buy like a case of those pressurized air bottle thingies i use for my keyboard! thanks once again!:D

You'd probably be better off buying a small compressor at Wal-Mart for 30 bucks. I go through a lot of air when I blow off my Maxx, and the compressor doesn't stop running until I'm done, and it takes about 15 minutes.

That's a good idea, if you are planning on doing nothing but cleaning your RC with the compressor, than one of the cheap one's from Wal-Mart is awesome. It won't take long to spend $30 buying the compressed air in cans.

cool I'm glad you asked and not me i was just going to post this i was thinking the same thing but was worried about my bearings

I would suggest a getting a motorsaver air filter and the foam pre-filter I believe thats more what he meant about the 2 filters but a fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea also.

Ah, you're right......duh!! I even have a Motor Saver with the pre-filter and didn't catch what he meant..LOL
Nothing but good things to say about the Motor Saver filters, best $20 I've spent on my Revo so far.
