I have just acquired a wrecked CEN GST 7.7 that has a perfectly good motor on it. I put the huge tires and wheels on one of my Revos last night and that got me wondering...??? I want to put the 7.7 on it as well. I am still running the 3.3 and I have been happy with it so far, but 7.7???

I was wondering if anyone has run one of these before, and if there were any issues? I have not heard good things about CEN, but I think that the motor would be worth a try.

Thanks for any info.

Um....I hate to tell you this but I just don't think that .46 is going to fit even with a big block kit. The Savage which is an 1/8 scale even has to be extended out a bit to make it fit. I could be wrong....but don't think it would happen easily.

7.7 revo

It can and has been done. We have a customer who had the same thought and followed through with it. I have to find out which kit is compatable and i also am certain that we had to install a back plate that eliminates the roto start system. So you will need to use a starter box. I have a sirio .27 3 port and its way more than you will ever need on the revo chasis.

I put the CEN wheels and tires on my REVO and they are just too heavy for the 3.3 with the 16/38 gearing that I have now. I have already installed the Robinson Racing full steel, wide ratio tranny upgrade. I think that the tranny would hold up to the 7.7, I just dont know if the chassis could hold up over time.

If you could find out what kit he used, I would love to give it a try.

Thanks!

So the challenge is.....make it happen. IMO it is pointless....but kinda cool still. So.....give us pictures of it along the way.

I'm Gonna Agree with FRICKENJOEY on the fact that is is alot of work for a not so good outcome. I spoke to my old boss and The kit was a moddified New Era Big BLock Conversion. You will need different arms, i think moddified RPMS will work just fine. Another thing is the owner of that truck no longer runs that setup as it was not right. Sometimes less is more in this case i would throw it out the window and get a nice italian motor .23 -.30 these are way more than you need and geared properly you can use those monster tires too.

Hes not looking for the power he has a motor and wants to try it.

Also why would you need different arms?

You only would need the Left Rear upper. when the suspension in compressed you wont make it. It doesn't clear. I know he has the motor but it really is alot of fabricating and just not worth it. I used to work at my LHS and we did one as i explained. It was a nitemare and today he doesn't even use the engine anymore. So i suggested if he wanted a Big Block, which ones i prefer.

I think it is a clearance issue for the arms. I think you need modded arms with the .32 mod for the Revo too. I can understand he just wants to try it. I am all for experimenting but there are something that just.....well dare I say...pointless? Granted it would look sick as hell...no lie I would dig it if it could be made to work. But is it more work than it is worth. Something that self destructs every time you drive it? Kinda expensive to me. But hey to each his own. Cool idea...just not practical.

yeah very true... never heard of that clearence issue... meh I'm never going to put a .32 in lol

Thanks guys... I am having second thoughts on trying this, and I have someone wanting the CEN. This was an idea, but time is not going to allow me to do it now. Thanks for all the info.
