Yes they should both work. The tiger drive is stronger but keep in mind the starter shaft will need to rotate the opposite direction of a standard roto start and takes a 7/32 allen head wand v/s the dogbone style of a roto start.

How about this one?

Many Thanks..... i'll be using a 6mm heli wand which i think will be ok with the 7/32. you mean i need to reverse the polarity just to spin the wand backwards?

The wand going in to most tiger drives need to rotate clockwise....a normal rotostart runs counter-clockwise. I am not sure if that second one will bolt up to a traxxas engine or not. I am not sure what direction your starter runs so......you may have to reverse it or you may not.. Either of the first two choices are good. You are correct 6mm and 7/32 are same thing so you should be good there.

They both say they'll fit a 2.5. Does the 3.3 have the same sized backplate? I was wanting to rid myself of the EZ-Start and I think there may be more options if the 2.5 stuff will fit the 3.3 as well.

The 2.5 and the 3.3 differ only in the head and bore sizes. Anything that fits the 2.5 will fit on the 3.3.

MrClean.... since were going on the same route... if you get the parts earlier. please... update me on the outcome.

Will do. I've got to get some parts for my LST first so it'll be a bit before I get around to replacing it. Since the LST uses a roto-start, I'm probably going to go that route if possible. I'd like to keep the same starting system for both rigs.
