Any help with this will be greatly appreciated :)
A few days ago I bought my son a revo 3.3. We read the entire manual and did the break in as was required etc. Then leaned it up just a little as was instructed to do, and the truck was going really well, more fun than I thought.

Then I crashed it... not bad but a few flips? after that the truck ran for about 15 seconds then stalled while driving. Since then I can't start it. Everything seems ok:
Glow plug seems ok (changed it anyway though, twice)
EZ-start seems to be working as it was before
Sucking Fuel
Compression seems ok
I reset the idle and high speed needle back to factory in case something moved but still the same... turns over fine... but not even a splutter?

I'm looking for any advice or things i should check that you can suggest.
Thanks.

when it flipped did it hit the head? maybe check for air leaks in and around fuel lines.

As far as i could see it didn't, more just .. cart wheel on the tyres? I can't see any obvious leeks, should i remove the engine and check head + all screws bolts etc? was hoping not to pull apart so soon but if needed i will of course.
Thanks

taking the head off wont hurt. just check that the bolts are tight first. if one is loose. tighten and try start. how many tanks have u put through it? mine is a little hard to start most of the time, but once its running its great. i could fine tune it but yeh...

It had the 5 tanks of fuel with the break in cycle then next day i think it was on the 4th-5th tank in the afternoon it stopped. ill check the head screws.
Cheers

Just checked and the head and no movement in it and the screws holding it down are tight as a nuns...

Appreciate your help

take the glow plug out and turn the motor over and check that it turn over smooth and u can feel the pinch at the top of the cycle.

whats the temp there?

could possibly be a tune problem too. have u check the fuel lines, tank, exhaust for air leaks? just blow into the exhaust and pinch the fuel line going into the motor... it should hold the pressure. then make sure u dont let go of the fuel line first or fuel will piss out everywhere. if u hear an air leak then u should start by fixing that.

Just got home from work so I will try the things you have mentioned.
I'm in Tasmania so its cool but not too bad.
What has me worried is that it was running really well before and stopped while driving... not sitting still then trying to accelerate hard which I read can happen if too rich) but was going about 10kms an hour (as a very rough guess) then just bluuur and stopped...

Thanks

Everything seems ok, I removed tank and pipe and checked for leaks. should i try a different tune setup? I'm using what it said in the manual: LSN level and HSN 4 turns out from closed. the ez-start is turning it over nicely and i keep charging batteries to make sure it has a good charge...

i dont know which way u have to go in cool temps, richen or lean, but i think u have to maybe try LSN 1/2 turn either way and HSN 1 turn... once its running and warmed up tune it... also u may have to heat up the block with a hair dryer or something.

Are you sure the glow plug is lighting up? I don't think it is. You should think about getting a handheld glow ignitor and use the ez-start for cranking only.
Sometimes the engines will quit on impact, but I think that's also about the time your ez-start decided to quit lighting the plug, which is very common with the ez-start.

You can test it by taking the plug out and holding it firmly against the engine block to complete the circuit.

That was one of the first things i checked, I just double checked though and it is glowing bright.. starting to drive me crazy lol. I mean getting air, fuel and heat should go bang?

Hey, another question. Should I be able to turn the flywheel by hand? just curious.
Thanks

when I started into all this and broke my first engine in with 4 turns it was so rich I ended up with just over 3 an a 1/4 turns out. From then own I have never got to the 4 turns. You may want try gong to the lean side.

hmm ... can't turn the flywheel, Even with the glow plug out. The ez-start motor has it spinning fast though. Will have a look tonight after work.

Thanks again for all the suggestions

u might have a friday engine.... i think my first one was a wed engine :) lasted for ages

These may be simple things, but worth checking as I've had afew problems and thanks to this Forum and REVO above they have been fixed..
*Slipper Clutch pads
*Pins in Tranny (Two of them)
*Teeth on wheels in Tranny
*Clutch Bell
*Engine alignment (Messing)
Just pull it all apart lol.. I didnt want to at first but you learn alot.
And I've found the reverse causes nothing but problems for me so I've ordered a Forward only conversion.
And it is frustrating as I've almost thrown my Revo off the Balcony =)

Oh damn be a tad chilly in Tas hey lol, I've Lived in Launceston and up near 'Derolaine' Hope the Above helps ya.

Just an update. pulled engine out and disassembled everything, all looked good so reassembled and sealed it while I had the engine out. It then started straight up!!
Still have no idea why it wasn't before but glad it is running now :)

Thanks for all the help!
