hi there from dublin

i ran my revo 3.3 in last week as per instructions. i began to set up the engine ie high low needle.

it was quite hard to set the high needle setting as it was very smokey and when i leaned the engine even a bit it would suder in secound gear. i never got it perfect unlike a second revo i was running in at the same time with a buddy.
this one was perfect wheelies galore!!!!
i got frustrated and reved therevo into 2nd gear while holding it up of the ground.

it cut out and when i tried to restart it no joy. in fact there is a knocking in the area of the crank case!!

i have stripped the engine and all seems fine, glow plug works fuel is getting through??
any help please

tks brian

have you taken the cylinder of ??? because I'm no expert but it sounds like you mite have broken the con rod when you picked it up. take the cylinder head of and see if you can tell. hope it helps

tks 4 the reply

stripped the whole engine alls well???

con rod/ piston/fuel getting to piston/ glow plug /
starter

dose not sound right when ez-start is engaged cracking/tudding from base of engine

cannot see anything wrong

this is my 6th nitro truck and I'm lost

so have you taken the cylinder head of ?? if so tip the car upside down, then u will no if it the con rod.

Sounds like you blew a bearing, causing a lot of slop. Try wiggling the crankshaft up and down. If it has ANY play in it, you have a blown bearing.

Either way, now you got an excuse to get a more powerful motor :D.

Also look under the piston by the wrist pin, it may have cracked there or broken the wrist pin. Traxxas engine bearings are poor quality.
You may have stretched the rod, just thinking of the nonobvious things here.

:(thanks for the reply

when i turn the crankshaft and the piston is tdc its very gritty and there is about 2mm play each way with the piston not moving.
can anybody tell me how i remove the piston and con rod to inspect the damage
