Hey guys I want to do a reveiw on the traxxas revo 3.3 compared to the 2.5 but all i know is the motor difference so if anyone could tell me spesiffic differenses that would be very helpful:\

The 3.3 has the same stroke as a 2.5 - meaning the piston travels the same distance up and down the bore. (The con rods and pistons are interchangable)

The 3.3 piston/bore is however larger than the 2.5, hence it's displacement is larger - so it makes more power.

The block looks the same . . . they use the same carb . . . they use different cranks - you can fit a 3.3 crank into a 2.5 though . . . the cooling heads are different - otherwise they are basically the same engine - just the 3.3 has larger displacement and makes more power.

The pistons are not interchangeable punisher, and the trans is the same except the 3.3 has a wide ratio instead of standard plus provisions for a rear brake.
Obviously the 3.3 chassis is longer, along with the front center shaft and tie rods from the servo to the bellcrank.
As you move from 2006 on up they began adding small improvements to the 3.3, like the exhaust, air filter, axle carriers, servos, radio, and wheels/tires etc.

The 2.5 is model #5310, 3.3's are 5309, 5308, 5304, and 5309 once again.

Thanks for correcting me - should have proof-read my post :whhooo: - your absolutely right of course . . . ;)

Also - the 2.5 tranz does not enable you to fit a rear brake.

And the 3.3 comes with GTR shocks . . .

Choice between 2.5 and 3.3 Revo = hands down 3.3.

I figured you knew that anyway, since you said the 3.3 has a bigger bore.
I forgot about the shocks, but the older 3.3s did not come with them.

ya my 5308 did not come with the gtr shocks. Not sure, but did any of the 5308's come with reverse?
