Has anyone installed a 3.3 in their 2.5 Revo? I've read something about the trans in the 2.5 can't handle the power from the 3.3. Looking at doing the power up program. Can I switch my shorter chassis to the longer 16½ using the parts on my shorter one or what would I need if it would work?

The 3.3 chassis is longer, drive shafts and steering shafts are different lengths. I reade theres holes for a brake that might not be in a 2.5 trans case but that doesn't entirely make sense to me.
This might be a good time to think about FOC if you'te worried about reliability.
I know metal gears are or were availible for it too but at some point, somewhere, something IS going to give if things get jammed up in your driveline.

Right now I just want to bring the old version Revo up to date. I am using the 3.3 model now to get parts cause they don't list the 2.5 anymore. Just finished adding the traxxas link, stability and Bluetooth setup to it, besides the Omni drive not working cause too old everything else works great. Can't say that for my Jato. It had everything installed just needed the trans and Receiver. Can't get the RPM or Speedo to show on the app.

Chassis, chassis plate, driveshaft and steering are different for certain.
The trans case MAY lack holes for braking upgrades with the 3.3 so do compare closely!!!
I blew up my transmission so I donmt want to say "it'll be fine".
But I think it'll be fine! 🤣
I never hooked my cars up to any of the link stuff. I can't help you there.
Funny though, I own 2 Traxxas.
A 3.3 Jato and 3.3 Revo! Small world!
