Comparing the TQI temp sensor on one of my BB engines with a good IR handheld I found I needed to mount the loop 2 fins above the head button to be within 5 degrees of the handheld. Bottom fin the telemetry showed hotter, upper fins too cool compared to the IR. I also found that the loop must remain tight against the head or you will get varying readings big time and the little slide swedge that comes with the loop wasn’t enough to keep it tight enough. I added another swedge to keep it as tight as possible and it reads consistently within 4/5 degrees of the IR handheld throughout the entire heat range.
You may need to adjust up/down on the head to dial it in and a good IR handheld will help with that.

I look for 230/240 degrees F with my BB’s

Thanks .I ran mine a bit this eve and I was getting close to300 but my sensor is currently right on the bottom of the engine si thats prob. Why even tho it was on the rich side btw it was the first time using the tqi system
