Yeah Ill be here for three days trying to get my rig back on the path . :whhooo: :nope:

It's not that bad if you have an uniterupted evening to do it. Yes, you will have to take most of the truck apart, as well as opening the tranny, but it's not that bad really. Like shorty said, if you get stuck, post here. it also hellps alot to have the assembly manual handy.

If you're ruunning a 25 or a 27 mill and it's broke in good, sure. But you'll also have to change out the 52 spur with the 49 if you do. An 18/52 won't fit.

I am running the stock nitro star 25 and its broke in really good I have already finished my 2 gallon of fuel and leaned it out a couple of weeks ago. I dont know what you mean by changing the other gear do you mean the large gear that sits on the 15 tooth now? I tried putting in my reverse and i'm almost done but a little worried I have an extra part from the tranny that round piece but the mod wouldnt fit unless i pulled it out so I hope thats cool also now that my 18t is in its too tight and wont turn. I can't believe that they would give me another clutch bell with the truck but not the parts to install it . Am I just doing something wrong this is the first time I've tore it all the way down. :n00bie:

You will have that extra piece left over when you put the module in. And at least from the little chart that HPI sends with their large clutch bells and spur gears now, an 18/52 combo will not fit. Same as a 13 or 14/49 combo. Yes, the large exposed gear that the bell interfaces with is called the spur gear and that's the one I was referring to. HPI should have included the 49 with your truck (if it was new). Did you remesh the bell/spur (set the gear mesh)?

You sure about the spur bro? The largest bell I could shoe horn into mine with a 52 was a 16 bell.

Error, I have ran the 18t CB with the 52t SG.It was a pain in the ass to mesh but it did work on mine also.

Hmm, just going on the info from HPI. Switching to a 49 will make it faster and easier to set the mesh (also a higher top speed).
