Ok, so I put in reverse in my 25 the other day, have to take apart half the darn truck but that's ok. have found out that the instructions for anything you do on a savage are half figure it out yourself and half what the heck are they trying to tell me !! :) have it all back together and on the bench when I engage it, it makes the axles go backwards and when I engage it in forward they go forward, now I'm all excited, put the wheels back on tank etc and go in the yard to try it. when I first try it it goes backwards about two inches and just revs, I swich into forward it goes great. if I put it in reverse and move the slipper gear it feels and sounds like the gears inside are slipping ,like being half in or half out of being engaged ??and the little rubber spacer on the linkage is smashed like a pankace. I used a # 23 arm and a SF1 servo. thanks in advance, JIM

Make sure you’re linkage has enough travel and is not binding on anything.

This is what it should look like when fully in reverse or forward.

Thank you Broken and Clint, the instructions on the HPI page helped alot and the pics are also great. after taking it all apart I noticed in my hurry that I had to put the gear on the out side of the cover, I had left the cover off when changing the shaft. today I will put it back together but the tranny does engage in and out like a champ now. Thanks for the help guys, Jim
