I can't rap my head around this strange problem. When I have my return pressure line connected to the tank on my MT2 it will only go about 7 mph on full throttle and runs at only 140 degrees. But when I take off the return pressure line it will run spin like a top. Could it be that i have either gotten something in the muffler when it almost fell off or could it be that i have melted something inside the muffler. So many things have gone wronge on this truck, i'd hate to see it meet the back tire of my pickup (lol).

Check your nipple on the muffler for blockage. Try also to blow out the pipe with compressed air.

Digger beat me to it. Does it sound like it's struggling with excessive smoke? Also, at idle, hold your hand near the exhaust (about two inches away or so). Does it get covered in "spittle"? A little is normal, a boatload indicates you're WAAAY rich.

Lets get the base settings of your mill. What is is your HSN, LSN(if it has this needle) and Idle?

i have blown it out with a compresser and it still isn't right. i have already tuned it. It isn't running rich or lean because it dies every time i adjust it. my book says not to touch the low speed needle, its set at 1 1/2. Not sure about my high speed needle i believe that it is set at 2 1/4. It never had any problems with this setting before. I had even put about 5 tanks through it and it was running fine. I still think that i have melted something in the exaust. my brother talked to people on the traxxxas website and one guy said that he had a similar problem and it was because he had melted his something in his exhaust pipe. its puting out oil. just a little, not excessively. It has got to be that exhaust. I unplig the return pressure line and it spins like a top. This has got me totally stumped otherwise. don't know the idle, never touched it. :wasted:

If it's the stock plastic pipe, then chances are you did indeed melt the baffle. Removing it is a simple job; if it's the plastic "two peice" pipe, there will be a nut on the end where the wire hanger attaches. In the "open" end, there will be a phillips screw. Simply unscrew the screw until it comes apart. Now, remove the cone (or a lump, if its' wasted), and reassemble. Make sure you get the pipe back together firmly.

Once you do that, it should last for quite a while. However, an upgrade to the metal tuned pipe would be advisable.

edit; ack. Just re-read it, was thinking it was a traxxas pipe (sorry). I'm not sure if the stock MT2 pipe is like the stock .15 pipe on the older traxxas trucks. If it cannot be disassembled, then an upgrade would be advisable; it'll bring that engine to life more than you can imagine.
