i'm wondering if you guys have some recomendations for aluminum or steel replacement gears for the tmaxx 2.5. i'm more than doubling the stock hp. i've been looking a hardcores but still curious about some of the others.

There are lots other than Hardcore. RRP, Golden Horizions, SuperMaxx, OTB.. probably more that I'm forgeting.

They are nice but you will have to pay for them.
IMO they are worth it.

The heck with food and shoes for the kids, everyone should have a set of these.

Thanks for the info.

I think I'll need more than $10 this time...

ok,....should i replace the three in the standard set or should i replace the above mentioned and the top shaft set also? what type of lube for the al or steel replacements? i'm a nubie to this one. can someone just draw me a picture so i can connect the dots please.

I also want to get new gears for my Maxx as I don't think the stock plastic gears are going to last much longer. I've heard of people destroying their stock tranny gears from lesser crashes then I've had.

The RRP gears seem to be priced fair @ $37.00 for forward and reverse but their forwar gear is steel...huuummm allot of heavy rotational mass??? I also wanna replace the clutch bell and gearing for more low end torque with the new Big-Joes.

Peace

come to find out most poeple are replacing only 3 of the tranny gears. hardcore racing has a nice set of aluminum gears which run $75-100. i have the set and i have the rrp steel top shaft set. you're right about the steel gears being a lot heavier. unless you have a 21 in your truck you probably won't need to replace any with metal. i'd just rebuild them with the stock plastic and save the $.
