What's a decent replacement for the Traxxas 2070 servo? I have stripped several stock servos? I'm thinking about metal gears.. Any advice?

Really comes down to your budget, what the most you are willing to pay for a quality servo?

Id look into Savox, Titanium geared and warrantied for 2 years I believe. I've never used anything but Savox and love em!

+1, i thought i would never spend that much on a servo, i bought a savox for my slash and will never look back.

maybe u should also investigate thoroughly, to why it is happening. I ran a stock 2070 for a long time and was plenty hard on the truck and never had a problem. Not saying a better servo isnt a good idea but if u do spend the 60-70 $ on a better servo and it strips it out u will probably b pretty pissed. imo.

+4 on the savox sc-0252. I've been beating the heck out of two in my maxx and also leaving them installed while washing my truck and they wont quit.

I usually have good luck with them but I like the 2075. Never had issues with them, plus a little cheaper

Thanks everyone, I replaced the stripped servo with a 2075 servo. Only problem is that I was out the other day tuning my truck in a parking lot when I heard a grinding noise. as I drove over to my make shift pit area, I noticed that I had no Steering. I flipped the truck on its lid and as I turned the steering wheel I heard the gears grinding and then the servo stopped working. I was able to move the wheels side to side with the power on. I once again stripped a servo. I didn't hit anything, I was out simply tuning... This servo is in my Slayer and not in my T-Maxx. I'm on my second servo in my Maxx which is a 2070 and it has yet to fail me even after rolling it down a mountain. I dont understand how the same type of servo is in my Maxx which is more abused hasn't broken but my slayer keeps chewing them up.. GRRRRR!!!!

Also with the Savox Servos, Are there any modifications to the truck's power system am I going to have to upgrade? Or can I just drop it in?? I'm Using the 4 AA battery set up..

The savox servo is the same size, no mod needed just remove and replace, like Bkyb basher said, I would find out why this is happening first, make sure your end points are set so the steering isn't trying to turn past the turning limits, this will add stress in the servo and strip it fast, metal or not.
