Okay, so as some of you know, I just bought a OFNA hyper 8 port for my savage. I'm curious, what kind of stuff would I need to make sure nothing breaks and everything can take the extra power.

Right now i'm thinking of upgrading the clutch to an aluminum clutch and replacing any non metal gears to metal gears.

Would that be enough to make sure nothing breaks or is there more that I would need to get? Like CVD's or some poop

HD DBs. Don't bother with the gears. Get a good brake disk. I melted mine running the hyper and HB big tires. Now I'm running the HB vented metal brake. The stock clutch shoes are good too, burn em up and then go aluminum. Mine aren't wearing that much (stock). Though it might help with the hole shots.

i have aluminum clutch on my picco, and have had no problem.as for the brake i have not even gone through the 1st one yet but i don't run mine all the time.as for gears the stock gears will hold up just fine.it will be best if you upgrade your bones they have a problem with twisting.so far the weak link has been the bones and the hubs striping out the wheels.

I was running the big HB tires on pavement when I melted my stock brake. Those things are pretty heavy and the brake just got hot and spun out on the hex hub. The HB brake disk still gets hot, but it hasn't screwed up the hex hub yet.

The only thing you should have to upgrade would be the CVDs. The stock CVDs (old version) had a design flaw that made them prone to snapping. THe newer version should be able to handle the strain, but you can never be too certain.

Other than that, I have almost a full gallon through my Hyper and have not seen any damages to any part of the drive train. And the brake is still looking like new. Guess I have my tension set just right on the brake rod and plates.
