Hey has anyone tried rechargeable as batteries in there T-Maxx? I heard they are 1.2v and regular as are 1.5v. Just wondering if anyone has tried them and if they work ok.

I'm sorry I meant to say AA rechargeable batteries but if the hump packs use 5 batteries at 1.2v the others should work right?

yes they will work just fine. I would recommend a nice set of NIMH AA batts over alkaline.

Along with an appropiate wall charger makes for a reliable setup.
We all need to start with the basic upgrades. (right fellas...?) and a good set of batteries is very important.

My point being, a 5 cell hump pack is 6V. A 4 cell Alkaline set is 6V. Replacing the 4 AAs with rechargeable AAs will only give you 4.8V, slower servos and shortened run time.

Oh I see. Ok maybe that wont work. Thanks once again this sight is a big help!

I run a humo pack in one of my 3.3 maxx's and rechargable energizer and havent noticed that big of a difference in any power on the servos. the only time I have kinda noticed is on my classic because it has reverse and stuff so it will drain alittle quicker. but yeah hump packs save space and time.....

Rolex is right. I want to add this: 4 aa alkalines are much better than 4 rechargeables, but a 5 cell nimh is much better than 4 aa alkalines. The reason being is when a 5 cell nimh is fully charged it has roughly 7 volts of power. You will notice a huge difference going to the 5 cell. They also pay for themselves in no time at all.

i bought 4 rechargable AA batteries for the servos. these last 4 times longer than when i was using regular AA batteries. i used to have to change my bateries after every few tanks or so. now i can go alot longer.

Thanks that sounds good! I bought a 16 pack hoping they Would work then I would be able to change them 4 times.

Well, I made a newb mistake today. I've been thinking about putting a hump pack in this thing since I bought it, and finally went and picked one up today. After nearly three hours in the car, and $25 on the pack, I get home only to realize I also need the $5 wire harness for it.

So, my choices are either another 3 hours in the car(and about $10 in gas) to the NSLHS, or pay S+H on a $5 part. Otherwise, I have a useless wad of energy now. :p I'm not going to risk splicing the harness, because that could mean I won't be able to use the truck at all until I get the new one.

Basically, in a really long way, I'm saying pick up the wire harness when you get your hump pack.

I tried rechargeable aa batteries and it didn't last nearly as long as alkaline aa batteries. So I went to my LHS and bought a speedpack 1700mAh and the onyx200 charger(it charges my rotostart battery also) by the way, I love the rotostart way much more than the ez start! And the pull start just got awfully annoying, lol.

that is the first time I have heard someone that likes the roto start better then push button or pull start... I had no luck with roto start i ended up spiking the roto start after 2-3 days of being patient.. In those 3 days i got my RS4 to start 1time.... and the battery thing is everybody has an opinion to what is better..... honestly a hump pack is easier because it can sit in your maxx and charge so yeah it is easier then batteries and it will save your battery holder screws... I am switching to hump packs in the rigs and rechargable in the controler....... I have had luck with the rechargables in my rigs I am just done unscrewing it when it is time to change( it might be a week in between changes but it is still a pain if you forget)
