I have heard about Ht Li-Ion receiver packs. I saw one in a issue of one of the car magazines, but can't find them anywhere on the internet for rc cars. Just wondering if anyone else have any info about them.

You know I've been searching myself for the same thing. What I did find is that some cam corder batteries are both L-ion, and 6 volt, just whats needed for a rx pack. The bonus about the batteries is that they are inexpoensive. The other is that they are totally sealed.
Check Ebay for 6v camcorder batteries. The packs are small and will last for days.
No mem gold are the best... Gluck :D

And your willing to trust a pack for a camera that is not designed to be subjected to the shocks and stresses of rc-cars

You obviously haven't saeen what my camera goes through LMAO.. yes I am, and yes they work.

Li polys are a different story tho. Store them in a fireproof container eh?

ummm but a camcorder baterery is in a sealed plastic case how do you access the batterry, sound like a hell of a lot of trouble to go to when you can buy a charger and lithium for just under 100 buck NZD (about 60 us), there is already a thread on lithiums earlier in the forum like last week, if you get on the net just about everywere sells them, so havent quite worked out why you guys can't find them, if your worried about 7v batteries, they dont damage your reciever it more a case of they make your servos work harder and for about 5 bucks you can put a off the shelf resistor thing in that makes them 6v or 4.8 can't remember

not everywhere sells them I have check multiple websites and no dice why dont you post a good size list of everywhere. I'm in the U.s. so make sure everywhere is located in the U.S. Thnks

ok well someone got something wedge somewere, y are you limited to just the states, you do realise theres a whole world outside of your country!!!!!! and believe it or not the cost of freight aint going to be that much different from outside that big mass of land,
all you have to do is ask your shops to find and get for you a lithium battery and charger pack made by prolux, if we can get em in little tiny NZ then I'm pretty sure you can get em in the states, or maybe your shops are like you and think the world stops on your boaders!!!!!!!!!!!! have you thought of looking for a helicopter one since they run lithium batteries that are light weight and grunty, remebering that a heli still runs normal servos and a ppm reciever they also can only take max7.2v

Sorry for being snarky but you did kind of ask for it with that stupid post, if i can find you one from here in the states what are you willing to do for me ????? cause i bet i can find you one, short of that if your real nice we might be able to get you one from here and post it to you........

heres one site after 2 minutes
http://www.globalrcmodels.com/electric_battery_packs.htm

http://www.remote-control-rc-hobby.com/lithium-battery.html

need i say more obviously there are places even in your little country that sell lithium batteries and charges, maybe your searck skills need refining

sorry admin for the snarkiness :devious: madnking :hammer:

Heheh thanks for all the links It's appreciated some of us aren't the greatest at the search.

Things move quickly in this hobby a couple of years agao NIHM batteries were unheard of, and a nihm rcvr pack was just not possible.

When I started using my cam corder pack it was about the only option. it was L-ION and lasted a heck of a lot longer than 4aa's glad to see theyhave some nice packs out these days.

still waiting for the "HT" Li-Ion pack thats specially made for 1/8 scale cars.
So before you go and give a negetive response to a post in a forum thats designed to help each other out please read the "stupid post" correctly before posting a "stupid response."

the batteries that i use is a li-ion pack that come with its own charger, if you try e-mailing people that sell lithiums I'm pretty sure that you will find what your looking for, like i said if we can get em here youll have them there, you just gotto look, and yes your right this post is to help others, so if you dont like whats said maybe you should just ignore it before asking me to make silly lists, and by the way
http://www.remote-control-rc-hobby.com/lithium-battery.html this link has got li-ion batteries

Ok have talked to one of shops over here we pay about 100 NZD for the battery and charger so about 60 us, drop them a line and they will let you know how much to get one of these back to the states, i would imagine it wont be alot as they are not a very big package

At least they maybe able to steer you in the right direction...

Yup, it was a no mem gold 6v camcorder replacment battery. It had four flat contacts. Two on each end. I made apost about it when i first joined last january?

The pack will fit in 2-3 different cam corders and came with it's own charger it's flat, encased in black plastic. I just soldered the two wires from the aa holder to the No mem gold and called it good. It lasted 2 days of hard bashing, or 3-4 days of light bashing in a maxx. It replaced the entire battery box.

It looked a lot like this.

SOmething to be said for the weight, durability and size (bout the same size as a maxx battery compartment)

here is a reply i got from a suplier on these batteries

Hi Mike and thanks for your question.
Yes I do have the lithium batteries you have in mind but I can't ship them
to the USA because of new security restrictions, sorry. I may be able to
ship to New Zealand though.

may exsplain the shortage of li-ion bats in the states
