hi
i need some education on receavers. first what is a narrow band single conversion receaver? i purchased a hitec HFS-03MT FM RECEAVER. i put my crystals in and won't work do i need different crystals? next question if i accidently cross the power lead to the receaver will it burn out?
Try to educate me on receavers because i'm having the worst luck with them, and buying them.
thanks

What transmitter do you have and what receiver were you using before??????

i have a futaba 3 pm with hi tech receaver, i'll have to get my book to be more precise.
i'll get more info tommorrow for you. thanks

ok heres the information the receaver is a futaba R133F 75mhz i sent it in and got a reply today said the ant wire was damaged and they tuned and adjusted want to charge $40.38 to repair. The radio is a 3PM FM magnum
T3PM digital proportional Futaba.

I can't find a R133F i suppose they don't make them anymore.

i purchased this one hitec HFS-03MT FM RECEAVER to replace it but won't work do i need narrow band crystals?

what do they mean single and double conversion crystals?

The single conversion, if I remember correctly, uses a single frequency multiple in the receiver. The double conversion uses two different frequency multiples. It's been quite a few years since I last talked this technical about radio stuff. So if I miss the mark, someone please let me know.

new question how do you test a crystal to see if bad? there should be a ohm's tolerence number i would think.
thanks

There is no reliable way to test for a bad crystal with the crystal itself. If you have another set of crystals, I would try those in place of the suspect crystals.

well thanks for the spelling test, so i suppose you know nothing about crystals just spelling.:D
