Hey, I am going to rebuild my shocks on my RC10GT soon. I was wondering what weight shock oil would be best. I would be using my car for mostly in grass and going off jumps. Thanks

I would get a bottle of 30, 35, and 40wt.
Play around with different weights in both the front and back to find what works best.

If your not into experimenting just get a bottle of 30 or 35wt and go have fun.

It has the E clips included. They are in the picture in the upper center above the o rings.

You will want to get the rebuild kit designed for your shocks. AE shocks use different parts them the Traxxas shocks.

will only ae shocks fit on an rc10gt? Or can any brand shocks fit mosty any car, as long as they are the same scale like a nitro evader shock on an rc10gt.

I think the evader shocks are longer, but I'm not sure... i think 35wt would be a little too light... but thats because i use 50-80wt... with #2 or #1 pistons... I have a heavy vehicle and i did do some major jumping... I also like the stiffer ride for the street... When off road, the bigger bumps throw it around like a rag doll with 80wt...

i use a 60 wt at the rear and a 35 wt at the front on my MT2 SS works great its great for juming and off road driving handles surprisingly well

30, 35 and 40 wt shock oil will be fine for off road in your GT. You don't want anything heavier unless you plan on running on road with it. The AE shock rebuild kit should have everything you need to rebuild your shocks. If you plan to use your Evader shocks, Check the rear droop length before running them. I think they are longer and will cause the axles to rub the arms close to the rear carriers and you could bend or break the axles. If so, you will have to put a spacer on the shaft inside of the shock to limit travel.

I run 30 in the rear and 35 in the front of my RC10GT.It does bottom out on some larger jumps.Just get a bottle of 30,35,40 and experiment.

Point to add: the pistons that come with the shock kits are 3 different sizes. Smaller holes will with light wt oil will act the same as large holes with heavy oil. With 3 weights of oil and 3 piston sizes you can create 9 combo's of shock rate. Changing the springs will increase the number of options. Play around with it and have fun learning.
