RC Driving Style
hi i have an old rc car which I'm deciding to strip down and completely rebuild. i need some help on deciding which engine to buy, as I'm wanting to rebuild it for a track car, not off road so need it to be as fast as possible but reliable at the same time. while I'm on the subject which starting system would be best aswell? any help would be much appreciated. thanks. :)

I dont no what it is I had it given a few years ago but am gunna strip it right back to a rolling chassis and buy all new

So you would like a "track car" but not off-road? Does this indicate you want an on-road track engine? If you are unsure of make of vehicle, do you know the class? i.e. Touring, Buggy, Monster Truck, etc.

i allready have a offroad buggy thats y i want a track car and i think its a touring car but wont no till i collect it from parents and the car has no value thats y i want to rebuild it for a personal car not to sell

I recently restored an old RC of my own doing the same as you, replacing almost everything new. So I can relate to your intensions with this car but it's not necessarily
a good idea considering its old and "has no value" as you put it.
Ask around, do some research and find out if this car is worth the time and effort before investing a dime into it. It's not worth buying a $100.00 saddle for a $10.00 horse.

If it's worthwhile to save, mix and match new (when necessary) with existing parts. Otherwise, you're essentially building a complete new car
and you'll soon learn you could have bought a brand new, RTR car for cheaper. That was my case anyhow.

i understand what u mean and thanks for the advice think what am gunna do is just check and se what will work and clean up but it defo needs new engine the one thats on has a crack in engine so no good also needs upgrading to shaft driven not belt

Whitey, there's a lot of things I don't know about RC cars and trucks but I'm an expert when it comes to fixing up junk and spending way too much money to do it. Believe me, if your car needs an engine, maybe servos, a battery, tires, maybe a transmitter and receiver, and who knows what else, you'd be a lot better off to just buy something new and ready to go.
