Rear wheel drive 18SS

Hi Guys,

I have a HPI RS4 evo 3 18SS that I had to build myself, and I was thinking if I removed the axle that connects the front differential to the gearbox
Will it be rear-wheel drive? and
Will there be any dangers (apart from oversteer) that I would need to be carefull of? E.G. engine breaking.

Wouldn't hurt it a bit. You are correct in that you will experience a lot of power oversteer but hangin' the rear out is always fun!

Sweet, i might try it out later, i think that it would impress my kids to see it drifting around the school yard.
Will the tyres produce smoke? (I'm a Newb at drifting RC)

I don't think they'll actually smoke any, but mine would leave black marks with AWD. With rear only, it was almost impossible to drive any distance at all in a straight line.

Tires wont smoke. But it will fly with the power to spare. It'll be a handful to drive.
I think iv'e seen drifters with smoke machines or something on the back producing fake smoke, looks cool!!

You can make tires that spark though. You drill into the tire and insert lighter flints. It's pretty cool. You can do this on bling exhausts too.

i wonder if it would put extra ware on the dogbones? that was my weak point on my hpi evo+ untill i put cvds
