Rear Dual Exhaust

I'm looking at a rear dual exhaust system for my Rs4 3, good idea or bad idea???

BAD IDEA. If you are looking at those creations with piping that routes the exhaust to the rear, they are useless. Nothin better then a gimmick and a show off thing. I would spend your money on things that ill make your ride perform better. the Back pressure issue is always a problem. Do some research on them .

Don't waste your time unless you like the challenge of trying to retune your engine.

my bother in law bought one for maxx and it sucks so so so so bad so loud you need ear plugs nobody else can hear there cars and power loss is very great...

wait i like that idea that other people can't hear they're cars lol cause I'm usally the one that can't hear my car, but I'm probly going to research it more to see if there's any good one's for my car thx

pckx,
you will not increase in power but loose power. if you do get one it would be scarce of you not coming back and saying "my car runs like crap now" if you really want more get the THS race tuned pipe i can say that it has made a difference in my cars performance .unless the pipes are bent right you will have to run all of your needles ultra rich. and you may have a hard time starting car.its your car and your money and your time so waste it as you please.

i don't think I'm going to get it, well at least right now. I think I'm just gonna hold off and get a better pipe and get a deflector, but i don't know yet. Everyone keeps sayin its a bad idea so i think i'll take they're advice. and u really think i'll lose power???

I did it. Got a deal on a dual exhaust for $35 and went for it. All the carb adjusting did nothing. I lost half the get up and go, and half the top end. I wanted it for looks, but the lost performance was unbelievable. Went back to the pipe I had.
Don't do it.

even tho everyone said not to get one i took a chance and ordered a dual exhaust system from ebay, i just got it today so i'll probly hook it up tommarrow and see how it works. and hopefully it does

the exhaust works, and it looks really cool, the only thing i don't like about it is that its kind of heavy but it did increase my acceleration!!! i think it was a good buy

it increases your acceleration. so what about engine teps are they higher or are they the same? how easy is it to start the car now?

my eninge temp has stayed the same, and i can still start my car with 1-3 pull's, so far its been fine

What mill did he have? I almost bought another tmaxx just for the rear exhaust. It was better on the low end and it sounded bad as hell IMO.

Tough call now. Mine ran lousy, but today, at the LHS I worked on a guy's Tmaxx that he just bought used. It had an OS Maxx .21, and dual exhaust made from 1/2" copper tubing. Once I had it running, it was the fastest TMaxx I've ever seen. I guess some are good, and others are not.

yea i was running mine today and it's a little quicker and it sounded great, the system i bought came with a set of silencers in case i didn't like it being loud, but it sounds pretty good loud.
