RC Driving Style
Hey i was driving my tmaxx today in my yard and i tighten up my slipper clutch. I notice that when i did that it help with the take-off making my maxx do wheelies.. When i go to put my maxx up i notice my Rear Drive shaft joint for the right tire is broken.. I am wondering why is that? Could it be that i was getting too much power or what? The maxx was a 2.5 r but i put the 3.3 in there

The stock 2.5R wheel and center shafts were designed for the smaller displacement engine(s).
The 3.3 puts out quite a bit more torque than the 2.5 and the center and wheel shafts will eventually/inevitably break/twist/wear out.
Time to upgrade the shafts or have stock spares on hand.

Ya, had the same problem.backed the slipper off just a slight bit and have not had a problem since.

I really dont wont to back off the slipper gear because i like how it takes off instantly and gives wheelies. What should i buy to fix this problem so i wont have to back off on the slipper gear.

Basically i just buy those 2 things "rak12" said for the rear and i will be good? Do i need to buy 2 for both sides or is it just one

Had a similar problem with my 2.5 when I put the OS CV-R in it. I upgraded both the centers and all 4 axles with a set from MIP and havent looked back since. Plastic driveshafts are good for stock setups but horrible for any aftermarket setups

Those items are for the rear center shaft with the extended chassis.

The dog bone is too long for the short chassis anyway.

These will work for center shafts with the 2.5R setup.

These will work for wheel shafts.

Idk i back it off just ever so slightly and still pulls wheelies out of the hole with a good tune and a little traction. Guess i somehow just got it about perfect. Although he just upgraded tires so may have to readjust. If it ever stops raining we will c

I am going to look those parts up and get them. I have the 2.5r i think i am not 100% sure. How would i be able to tell? I already upgraded the engine though.

The 2.5R model 4902 and the 3.3 model 4909 are almost identical except for the engine and the 4909 came with the 3.8 Talon tires as opposed to the 4902 which had the 3.8 Chevron wheels/tires, the 4909 also came with a wheelie bar.

The shafts I listed will work with both models.

So i will need to buy both of this things? And this will work for any Model 2.5 Tmaxx? Also is there anything cheaper I can get to do this

I honestly think i have the 2.5 because i notice that my Gear box is black and in the 2.5R the gear box is Grey

The center shafts will only work correctly with the short chassis and the grey transmission with the blue brake hex. 4902 & 4909 models.

The wheel shafts will only work with models that have the revo spec/3.3 style axle carriers. 4902/4909/4908/4907 models, or any model with the wide a-arms and the revo spec axle carriers.

I am confused on witch one I have. I know my tranny box is Black.. I think i have the just the 2.5.. And i do not have a wheelie bar

Here a picture of the top of my truck so you can see what i got.

Thats a model 4910 2.5 chassis with a 3.3 engine and front tires mounted backwards.

The above shafts will not fit it.
You will need shafts for that specific model (4910)

Alright thanks! Do they make metal shafts for the 4910? Because i dont see them.

Dam that is probably why i am having a hard time controlling it. So what is mounted backwards?
