HEY GUYS I HAVE PROBLEM WITH REAR DIFF IT KEEP BRAKING I THINK CAUSE I HAVE THE BIG JOES TIRE AND WHEELS AND THE SAVAGE IS 90% ALUMINUM WHAT DU THINK???????:D
 
that is alot of weight for them to carry, they wont break if u get bp diffs

Are your diffs shimmed? If not, yes, you will keep breaking them. If you install BP diffs and you don't shim them, you'll break something else.
 
you just need to shim them. the nitros dont make enough power to break them unless they arent shimmed correctly. my front was the trouble one, with a shim worth about a penny its now fine
 
It's not just the power that strips gears. How you drive/land jumps ect. will greatly affect the life of your diff. I still want to know if the BP diffs will hold up to a good .28 with a locker.
 
can the diffs be shimmed too tight? I thought I had shimmed it correctly but the last time I went out I again stripped three teeth of the bevel that connects to the rear axle drive cup. Think I'm going to invest in the savage X style diff housings as its annoying to have to remove all of the back end to get to the diff.

yes and it was a pain in the ass.but i have no choice so i order part# 102692 and 86032 hpi cause i call hpi that's what they said so we will see. also i have axial 28 2 spec engine and i love it.:D

i dont know if there are shimmed good ?

they hold up to the power of the Flux HP, the .28 wont come close to breaking them, of course the locker may prove to be another story... in theory they should
