Rear Diff spool...Bad Idea!

I had my rear differential pulled apart on my 2.5 about a week ago and i figured it would be a good idea to install the traxxas diff spool. To be quite honest, it sucks! Handling suffers greatly on road of course, but also off road, even in soft sand i have almost no control, the truck loves to slide around and flip like crazy. I have also snapped two rear drive shafts and severly twisted another. The only upside i see is 100% traction to the rear wheels which equals easy wheelies! Aside from all that, where can i get a set of drive shafts that can handle the abuse? Either steel dog bones or revo drive shafts maybe?

Upgrading the shafts will only send the stress to the diff. Lockers=worthless. There are no benefits unless your drag racing, rock crawling or pulling.

I agree with Matt, I have a revo with stock diffs and a Bb tmaxx with locked diffs front and rear. It has a huge turning circle and has snapped all the drive shafts and a wheel in one run (after tightening the slipper a bit haha ). Revo drives much nicer with open diffs and rarely gets stuck. The tmaxx on the otherhand will climb till it rolls over.

my jato would not go in straight line when accelerating hard with the stock dif. i had to jb-weld it, now it goes in a straight line.
