I read this in the tip section of some magazine, and in case you haven't done it yet, here it is:
Measure the hole in the bottom of the TVP gap right underneath the transmission. Buy a piece of sheetmetal big enough to cover this hole, and cut a piece that is the perfect size. Smooth the edges, Then drill holes near the edges big enough so that a zip-tie can fit through. Put the sheetmetal on the hole, and thread the zip-tie through the hole and through the hole in the chassis plate. Tighten the zip-tie. That's pretty much it. I might post pics later if you dont understand.

P.S. You can also use lexan, but its not as sturdy or trick looking.

ooh.. yeah maybe a center skip. i thought he was talkin about, measuring and putting sheetmetal on the side of the tvp. my bad.

center skid***

Yeah, it's a center skid. I'll post pictures in a few minutes.

Not try ing to knock anything as I support the creativity, I just have a question as how you get the zip ties below the skid and still attach the skid with them? Seems like if you scraped a few times on curbs or anything you run the risk of snapping zip ties. Other than that sounds great.

Ok, picture time:

That is a risk, but I'm willing to take it.

that looks pretty good and looks like it will work quite well. besides the scraping off the zip ties, that looks good. nice job.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm betting they will scrape off at some time, but at least it's an easy repair

I've still not made the center skid plate mod, I'll do it with carbon fiber. nice job NitroM3GTR

Ok so if you are worried about them coming off which it is a likely possibility why not use 4 small radiator clamps. I have one holding my rear header tank on and it works perfectly. Just a thought.

looks good , if your going to use zip ties you might want to think about getting some more beefier zip ties like 1/4 inch +

I was planning on using bigger ties but I only had a dremel on hand, and the drill bit was fairly small. I'll probably replace them later with bigger ones or use the radiator clamps, that sounds like a good idea.

Someone over at Savage-Central did the same kind of thing. When he was cutting out the skid he cut out 4 ears. He bent those to align with the TVP's and attached it using screws and nylon nuts. You will have to drill 4 holes into the TVP's.

i have done this mod with lexan and it worked well but after a while it got real ugly with all the scratches, i made another one i just never put it on.
