Epic released a new updated version of Reality Scan. It's pretty cool. There's a phone app version and a very robust desktop version i've been messing with. Still learning the software but it's pretty impressive so far. I have only played around with photogrammetry a little bit years ago with drone mapping software and this is on another level.

Here's just some stuff i'v played with:

I played with photogrammetry about 6 years ago with a free play store app. It was a lot cleaner than those renders you have there. Why is everything so full of imperfections?

Most of these were done in my garage with pretty bad lighting. Still trying to figure out the best way to get a good capture. Plus I have not messed with the millions of settings much at all

Oh ok. Yes, lighting is very important with it.

Simple fix... get a good light hood, and get yourself a cheap motorized lazy susan (rotary table) set your phone to take a timelapse.

here's a gif of a zoom-around video clip i took. it's pretty impressive the details it renders and the amount of geometry it gets correct. You can also see where my lighting was far too contrasty. Need to get this done on an overcast day with flat lighting. Very impressed with what it can do. Now i need to see what are the steps to clean a 3D file up to be printable. I'd like to make some miniatures of my race cars for fun.

Looks awesome man. Have you tried Kiri Engine yet?

this is cool, but light years beyond my skiills, thats awesome bro
you can just walk around an object and record it with video or take lots of photos. my friend was experimenting with using slow motion video frames from his phone. I did a second take of the T4 and i think it looks fantastic. Now i want to get into learning Blender so i can clean these up and make adjustments to make them more 3d printable.

here you can see all the photos i took and how the software aligned them, all automagically.

this is a point cloud, an extremely detailed one that is so close that it looks like a 3d model if you didn't know better
