i got a crowd pleazer 2.0 body for my FT RC18T. i know the proline body comes with its own wing you attach with double sided tape, but i wanted a down force wing. so i got one from a b44 its 5 1/2" long but my body interferes with the wing mount.

i dont know if anyone has ever used this body with the wing mount, but if you have please let me know how you did it.

the only solution i can think of is either cutting the body so the mounts arent obstructed. or get a different wing mount. or just keep the stick on wing from proline.

so just wanted to see if you guys could help with some ideas. i can take pics if needed.

Sup Matt, haven't seen you in a while :)

You may just have to cut the body. If it attaches to the rear shock tower or something similar, you might not have to cut too much; it'll look similar to how the bumper mounts stick out on a Revo.

Can't really help too much without pics, sorry :) [I'm at school so forgive me if there ARE pics]

The losi body is almost the same. Heres how i did mine.

Hope it helps.

that was exactly what i was looking for, thanks for the pics and suggestions. i just didnt want to cut into my brand new body to realize a screwed it up lol.

now alpinehyperlite, i see you have a seemingly stock RC18T with lipo and brushless. do you use your stock diffs or did you switch up to the the MIP super diffs?

i got a 4200KV motor with a 9.6V NiMH pack. i just wanted to see how the stock diffs hold up. i seem to hear a weird clicking/grinding noise when i give it full throttle. i dont know if my diffs are bad or just can't handle the power. i havent shimmed the diffs like I've been told. but i got a shim kit on order, but if i need the super diffs, or the carbide ball diff, ill get what i need accordingly.

so any help on that would be great.

thanks all

I run the MIP Super Diffs in front and rear. Made a huge difference. I'm running on a 3s lipo, and with the aggressive tires, (bigger) this thing SCREAMS! Also am running a hitec servo after i killed 3 stockers. Had to mod the mount, but it works perfectly, ill post a pic if you need.

ill make sure i pick up 2 of those myself. and i only got stock tires and wheels. i really want to get a set of proline tires and wheel.

my servo is a Hitec HS65-MG which has been good for now, had to mess with the mounts for that one also but its pretty good in the RC18 IMO

what wheel and tires do you run for on road.
i hear that the mini T rear wheel will fit on both the front and back of the RC18 series. is that true?
also if you have some links to cheap proline wheels and tires or have a spare set you could sell, let me know

i was thinking about going 12mm adaptors with some nice on road and off road wheels and tires. i wonder what the RC18 would look like with Rustler or something similar would work? lol

just throwing out ideas here

let me know what you guys think

The onroad ones I'm running are the proline road-rage, with wabash wheels. and the best I've found for offroad are the proline dirt hawgs. They are just a thick rubber tire, and dont balloon as much as the losi mashers that are on the front. The Road rage's have almost no ballooning, with 4600kv and 11.1 volts. lol

great thanks alot. ill def get the MIP super diffs for the front and back, plus some of those nice Road Rage tires and proline wabash wheels.

it is still snowing here but once it clears up, i got myself a camcorder and ill take a vid of it once it up and running. my battery pack still needs a little work to fit nicely. but with the new proline body there way more room to work with inside, which is great. the RC18B body was crap.

my RC18 was originally a B but i turned it into a FT RC18T, cuz i got a great deal on all the parts, which makes the body work a lot better than the more confined RC18B body. I just got in my B44 wing, Adj. turnbuckles, and a backup RC18B wing. ( just in case the B44 one is a little to much for it).

next I'm thinking of getting either the FT alum dogbones or some type of CVD. i can't think of anything else i would need to make my brushless RC18T better so any suggestions are most welcomed!

Post up a shot of the body once you get it trimmed up and the wing in place. Which ESC are you running? Could deffinatly upgrade the battery..........

i go with the 9.6V NiMH pack cuz i dont have a lipo charger right now.

but i got a sidewinder ESC with the 4200KV motor and a 75MHz FM Futaba Radio. I've had it up and running but the diffs are giving me some problems so i need to wait to get cash for some MIP super diffs.

i just got back from my LHS and picked up the paint for the wing and body. ill post up some pics when i paint it either tomorrow or Sunday.
