Has anyone had problems with RC18t diffs acting like a slipper? I've rebuilt the diffs and tightened them all the way down and then backed it off 1/2 turn. When I hit the throttle, the brushless motor winds up, the diffs slip and then it eases up to speed.

Any ideas on getting it to launch harder?

Ah man don't say that.....I am building one up for my daughter that I got off of Slowgreen....you know that is why I have always hated ball diffs. They are a pain. My RC10T4 had the same problem....I found out it is because I melted the center out of the diff gear......

I've always backed them out a 1/4 turn, maybe you should try tightening them up a bit?

are you sure you're getting them completely tightened before you back off? When I built my first RC18 I thought I had them good and tight but I experienced slipping too right off the bat. I put I screwdriver across each outdrive and tightened them that way. I was no where close to having them completely tightened. 1/4 off should be fine as long as you're getting them all the way tight beforehand.

I did use the screwdriver in the opposite end cup to get them tight and then backed it off a half turn. I guess I'll go ahead and tighten them up and try loosening them up just a quarter. Thanks for the input guys.

I'm not sure if you're following what I'm saying. When I built my diffs I could not get them completely tightened by hand. I had to put a screwdriver across each of the outdrives in order to get enough leverage to tighten the diff down completely. Before I did that I actually cut my finger on the plastic outdrive trying to get it tight enough.
