i have an rc18mt and the diffs are messed up and ppl keep telling me a bunch of different crap to get but I'm confused on what i need can anyone help me?

If your gears and balls are fine, you can reuse them.

It is a good idea to pick up the shims so you can shim out any slop.

well I'm going to go brushless soon so I'm going to go with the mip super diffs wich i think comes with everything

No, with the MIP super diff's you still have to pick up a diff rebuild kit. For 4 bucks, its worth it just to get all new parts.

I am brushless also and so far the stockers are holding up well. I have only ran them for a week though.

I would say if you have the money yes go ahead and get the MIP I was just trying to make it simple.

If you have already started to put some wear on your diffs, then go ahead and get the stock replacement kit, but you also should get the MIP set, as hatetolose said, if you have the extra 40$ or so do do it. It is a great investment, and will protect your diffs in the future, especially if you plan on going brushless, as i have, it will definatly help out.

ok thnx for ur help ill just buy the stock ones until i go brushless

Its pretty fun trying to get them together lol. I didnt tighten mine down enough at first i was like.... WTF!!! then heartbreak helped me out. Runs great now!

Yeah, that little truck scoots something fierce. I was amazed when he pulled full throttle the first time and it back flipped. Seeing the lipo in action and not going BOOM like a firecracker on the 4th has pretty much made me want to get a lipo for my 18b.

The key to pretty much all ball diffs (especially associateds) is that you have to seat the balls against the rings. The easiest way is to build it, tighten it down and loosen the diff about 1/16th of a turn. Run it a little, and recheck. Repeat until the diff doesn't slip any more yet feels super-smooth. Should take about 3 or 4 times.
