I recently purchased a rc10 fully modded. Nothing stock except for chassis. All aluminum everything down to hardened spur gear. . .The motor only is was blown so i put a OS .18 on it. What kind of speeds can i expect?? I am trying to race competitively. There are alot of dirt tracks where i live, is this a good truck to race???

i was very pleased with my rc10gt and os .18 combo it was a rocket sled but i was all rpm and alot lighter then your rig. the rc10 is a very competitive rig when set up correctly but i dont think the all aluminum is helping any... just my .02
 
Ok, well i actually have two. . .My other one is stock and it has a OS .12. . .Should i lean more toward racing that one. . .I was kinda wondering whehter the aluminum was going to be to heavy for racing. . maybe i should race my stocker one and use the aluminum one for jumping. waht do you think??
 
I thought stadium trucks were supposed to run .15 engines in competition?

At any rate, the RC10GT is certainly a race worthy rig. It has won many big races over the years. I myself am finally getting a stadium truck after years of wanting to expand my collection to include a 1/10 scale nitro.

I've got a unpainted RC10GT shell and a new set of RPM rear arms if you need them. Let me know.
 
I checked with my local track. . and its run what you brung. . Its competitive but no on the big racing scale. . .Alot of guys are running .21's on their rc10's so hopefully ill have a chance.
 
with a dialed rig you should be fine. you can only put so much power down through 2 wheels and the .18 makes more then enough.
 
My .12 racing engine will certainly put down more power than needed. Any good racing .12 will be sufficient when properly tuned. And to top things off, my .12 sips fuel compared to my os.18.

.21 would be insane, lol. How'd they fit it?
 
dont really know how they fit it. . next time I'm there on the 11/30/08 I'm going to get a closer look. . .they are soooo fast with that .21. i didnt think the tranny would hold up to it, but then again i really didnt talk long with those guys, they kinda stick to themselves.
 
I had owned a RC10GT.... my first nitro....all stock, even the engine was stock. That thing screamed. I had put some Dirt Hawgs on for tires and rarely got past 3/4 throttle on the little track I used to run it on. I can't imagine that you could put a .21 and have much advantage over someone with expierence.
I'd say put the OS .18 in the stock one and practice, practice, practice... you'll do fine.:first_place:
