RC10GT Race Setup?

Every track is different.
The factory setup is a great place to start. From there you can see what others are running at the track you go to. Obviously the best place to start is to look at the winners and see what tires and springs they run. You may talk to them as well If they are good sportsmen they will help you get dialed in in no time at all.

Thanks

Yeah we need some more info before we can help you. I race the RC10GT and I hold the speed record at two tracks in CA. But I will tell you this first: use blue loc-tite on everything you can and check all the screws before EVERY race. I run 40 weight oil all around and I rebuild my shocks twice a month and diff once a month.

Your setup is really going to vary with the track conditions. On my local track the track is techincally demanding with lots of tight turns and triples which require a car to be dialed in wheel to clear the triples. Also tire choice varies from track to track and even within track. I reguarly switch from Square Fuzzies (Pro-Line) R3 to Evil Twins (Pro-Line) R3 on a given day.

Also the first thing I do is take the body off and tune the motor and make sure I am running a nice temp (I run an OS engine on my tight track and Novarossi on the larger tracks) before I start to make shock and/or tire adjustments. I can clear the triples with my OS engine running anywhere from 170-240 degrees but I richen up the HSN to the point where I can make the triples by setting the car up correctly and grabbing 75% of the throttle. Also the Evil Twins R3 are the best all around tire I have found for hard pack/ blue groove conditions (square fuzzies work well but wear quickly). I run a Robinson Racing Metal Spur and hardered clutch bell http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPZ88&P=0 (65th Spur and 15tooth clutch bell). I rarely switch the clutch bells unless I want some more top speed which I need for the second track I hold a record at which has a huge sweeper where I can let the car fly down if I have the slipper dialed in correctly. Once you have the slipper clutch putting down some good power then tune the HSN.

The key to a good race is tons of preparation. Oh yes and make sure your manifold and pipe connector is clamped down as tightly as humanly possible as I have seen an A-mail go from 10 starters to 3 guys because you have to pull off. Also for long A-mains make sure to charge your receiver pack I cannot even begin to tell you how many people do not do this before an hour long main and off the car goes full throttle with the owner chasing his truck along with his pit guy. You will also need a friend to fuel up your car for the main and let him pratice fueling your ride as you can make big time on the pit stop.

What 2 tracks do you hold the "Speed Records" at?

Replace Speed Record with fastest A-Main ( www.capitalrc.com )

It only lists two records with my name but I should have stock buggy and novice nitro.....
