I was wondering is the AE engine simply not strong enough to pull up the frtont of the RC10GT, I know wheelies are a bad thing but for fun sake sometimes I wish I could get the front of the ground

With the GT, the AE engine should be able to get the front up. But there's more than the engine that needs to be tweaked. First, you'll probably have to remove the carb restrictor from the carb. Tighten the slipper all the way down. Stiffen up the rear suspension. And then the big trick. Finding somewhere to get enough traction. The .15 in the GT has way too much power for that light chassis. Anytime I peg the throttle I spin the heck out of the wheels. So no wheelies..

I was thinking that too, this has been mr first (real quality) RC, And I am amazed at how strong and hard it can be to control. When on certin surfaces turning my throlttle control down is all I can do to keep from just roasting the tires!

I have an RC10GT with the AE .15 engine in it, and i have that huge restrictor in my carburator too. I know that it's restricting, so it's probably holding back the true potential, although should i remove it? And how? Does it just pop out? Becuase my truck only does probably 25 or 30ish i would guess, although my cousin has one and i never saw it drive, although he swears it will do 40 or more, so is that restrictor all thats holding me back from more speed? or is my cousin just exagerating? (he has one of the cheapest O.S. .12 engines...but no carb restrictor)

I to have the GT and i do wheelies. but i have street tires for the truck, also in the shallow grass it will pop up. but for being fast ,that i do not now i no mine can move.

IMO, removing the restrictor only improves the low end torque but for doing wheelies this is what you need. this wil however just about double the fuel consumption. it just pops out and you can just put it back in when you feel like youve wasted enough gas. also, knobby buggy type tires help getting the good traction if you are running in the grass

wow this is an old thread, anyway I finaly got my RC10GT to yank some wheelies with factory engine. Get you some Tractagator rear tires, and a really, lean (but safe range) tune, and it will ride em all day long!

My RC10 pulls wheelies all day long on any surface (including snow!) with the step pin rears, road hawgs, and unbelievable with the sand hawgs (paddles) at the beach. When i want it to keep the nose down I adjust the toe in of the rear wheels to prevent it from doing wheelies / \ . I have found the starighter the rear wheels, the easier to pull wheelies I I.:spit: :constipat :constipat
