i bought a picco 15 for my gt it was missing the clutch set up so I'm trying to use the set-up from the ae stock 15 but the shafts are diffrent anyone know how to or where i can get what i need to do this switch i think i need a clutch net with a shaft w/clip?anyone got the nut i need?

If you have the standard threaded shaft, it needs to be cut. AE has a cut-off nut for that. Basically screw on the nut and cut off the extra. Otherwise, you can bring it to your LHS and have them cut it to the proper length for a minimal fee.

BTW, if you're using the AE .15 made for the rc10gt, that's an sg crank so it is a different nut and set up all together.

How does the ae clutch work without springs? Are the shoes not contstantly touching the bell?

Wow, talk about bringing up the dead. The shoes without springs rub the inside of the clutch bell while the engine is running, and then when the engine gets enough rpms going, they grab and the vehicle takes off. It is not wise to idle very long with shoes without springs, because it heats up the bell and can melt the spur. Its happened to me a few times, before i switched to the MIP clutch.

Thanks 21rc10, my friend has just bought a .18 and we were having trouble because its threaded shaft and my 2 p-shafts (1 kyosho, 1 traxxas) didnt fit thru the bearings on the shallow clutchbell, We have now ordered an associated p-shaft and the mip 4n1 clutch from tower, Is the clutch direct replacement for those tiny white shoes, what are the little silver parts in the picture?? It seems a much better idea to have a spring.

I think the silver parts you are talking about are the clutch weights. They let you adjust when the clutch engages. The mip clutch is a direct replacement for the stock shoes, except, you will need to grind off about 1-2mm of the flywheel pins.

Niice, Might be worth getting a dremmel for the shaft cutting and the pin grinding, Will it take tower long to get to a UK address? we got the shoes, collet and p-shaft coming
