So i am thinking about picking one of these up. I know my LHS has a 4.1 as roller i might make a offer as i will not pay 100.00 for a roller that i think is 100 percent stock. With that being said anyone have a 4.2 rtr or know anything about them? I really like the idea of getting the rtr but is there a lot of upgrade able parts out there? I see the stadium truck has some parts and i use tower for my example but the buggy part support seams to be just some basic parts and the only option is springs/spur and pinon gear threw tower. I just want to make sure its a good buy with part support. Its kinda funny how cheap it is i think everyone is buying all the kits with the factory metal parts . I am not up to date on all the AE buggies but i think they have a few more race buggy's in kit form . I think i seen one for 250 or so which did not have electronics but i heard all the guys at the track saying i am picking one up etc etc.

$100 for a B4.1 roller may not be too bad depending on the condition. There is a ton of part support for both the B4.1 and 4.2 buggies both through Associated and the aftermarket. This is AE's most award winning buggy to date. Keep in mind though that AE has now released the new B5 buggy and will introduce a new mid motor B5M buggy in April. So the B4 line of buggies are now a discontinued item. This does not mean however that part support will dry up nor will it mean that the B4 line is junk and no longer competitive. Unless you are racing competitively you would be find to save money and get the 4.1 or 4.2. I hope this helps.

Tom i know about those other buggies and guys that i just meet who race are selling there older buggies to get them going with there new kits. I found out its a 4.1 i think it was a brushed truck, and comes with what i think is the stock metal gear cheapo servo. I did see it a few weeks back, it looked mint but i did not check for any play in the drive train any binding anything really that says walk away. They have it on hold for me to come in. I am getting to know the owner and we have traded and i have bought stuff and he ordered parts and i kept my word to show up and pay. Now i want to see if i can get a deal lol, imo based on what i seen . Pretty much in good shape no cracks any where body as well and the tires where real nice stock but no wear. I would put 80.00 on the table max. Not sure how to go at it ? I look it over i want it , its a great start for me do i just say f-it here will you take 80.00? or should i see what his bottom dollar is? For me i want to be at 70 max with the servo but to be honest i will go to 80.00. I will walk away from the deal i its 100.00 firm. At that price i can get a rc10b4.2 rtr for like 240 . I just like the idea of a solid roller with part support and i can pick the electronics. i will have a thread asking about esc/motors...

If he is willing to deal always go in low.....reasonably so of course. You don't want to risk insulting him. I would offer him the $70 in cash and see where it goes. You got nothing to loose but $10 if you have to go 80 which I think is still fair considering it sounds to be in good shape. Like you said its a win win for you if he takes the cash.

cool, i like the idea. I will follow this and see how it goes I all ready am checking out esc/motors etc... I thought it was cool he is said he would pull it and hold it. He had 6 hours left still in the day..

it was beat to hell, used a racer . It was not the team kit and it had no mods. It did have a weight on the front and it did have lots of wear. It had some cheapo but new tires. It did not have the battery hold down . I would of done 60 but i said what is the best you can do. LHS said i can not do any better then 100.00 . I said it does not have the battery hold down, its been raced there is no mods its old and the new 4.2 is 225 to my door. I said if this was a team kit with the upgrades i would do 100.00 all day with the wear. I did not even offer anything he said he can do 90 and a battery hold down. I could not do that. I found a 4.2 kit that was run a few times a few sets of tires all are 90 percent thread but one rear barcode set. It has all top notch tires and its clean. Only a few little marks on the bottom but it sure looks good. I am paying top dollar i think its like a 325 or so new set up i am in to it for 180.00 shipped . 2 day shipped i just have to pay monday and i will make sure i get tracking etc etc.

I am a tad nervous, i have to send cash threw paypal. He ended it early i wonder am i covered threw paypal at all? It is a good deal but at 180.00 that is a lot to just take a chance with ya know?

Did you pay? If you payed through ebay, it went through paypal and you're fine.

he ended as i did not meet the amount he wanted. He said he would take 140 then the other 40 monday or tuesday then he will ship 2 day to me. I said i rather pay in full, he ended and said he will wait to monday or Tuesday and i can send it threw pay pal. I would assume this is now not a ebay deal lol. He said he would call me today but he could lie on the phone, as i will just want to find out who will he ship with and how soon and will he use tracking . I did want to ask about what i thought be a crack to the chassis but at 180.00 i mean its a good deal for me and he is getting a nice chunk back out of what he put in to his KIt. I would hate to send the money and he does not ship and paypal says they will cover you but there is all ways some things they will not cover. I think i read like cars/trucks but who knows if the rc falls in to the motor section/modded upgraded that is not covered. Now adays you can not go by some ones word, and this dudes ebay feedback is like 17 he sold one other rc but that was a ebay deal. Id anyone feels i could get screwed over please feel free to just say do not do the deal. i am fine keep looking for a local deal or save for my very own new set up. thanks

So when you login to paypal, go to send a payment. Make sure the tick mark is for goods/services. This covers your ass. If you send it as a family or friends gift (gifting), seller will not lose 3% of money due to transaction fees and buyer protection, and you will have a harder time getting your money back if anything goes south. Make sure you pay and select goods/services!
