Track was 185 x 90 maybe a little bigger. 342 total entries, controlled practice started on tuesday and went thru wednesday. Thursday was all trucks, 1/10th, MT, Intermediate Arena and Expert Arena with the lower mains being run after 4 rounds of qualifying. Friday was all buggy Intermediate and Expert with lower mains being run in the evening. Saturday was all B and A mains. Roughly 300 spectators showed up today for the mains which is more than I had expected. Lap times around the track were in the 30 seconds range. My best laps in Intermediate Arena were 32.4. One of the Weelers running a Mugen MBX5T in Expert Arena truck was busting off some 27.4 laps in the closing minutes of the A Main. Expert Buggy times around 29.x.

I had a string of poopy luck to say the least. Practice was great only broke a lower arm towards the end of one session. First qualifier, pit man got me on track late, halfway through first warm up I had to cut the track to get topped off on the back straight for the start and broke another arm on the pipes. Second qualifier I just wanted to make some laps to make up for it so I went pretty easy only turning an 8/5:04 which put me 5th I think. 3rd qualifer running a fast third I had to get marshalled and the marshal threw me infront of another truck which hit me hard and stripped out my steering horn. 4th qualifier, I fudged up maintenance when I replaced the steering horn and forgot to reset my endpoints which tore out the gears of another steering horn, 0 laps. Placed in D main (insert laughter here) and during the warm up laps my truck was pulling to the left so I adjusted the trim come down the back straight to top off and the truck makes a hard left into the stands ripping off another arm, 0 laps. Seems my Spektrum glitching problem has returned. It was a blast even though I sucked bad. Three friends made the Intermediate A Main with one finishing second and another finishing 7th.

Wow. That looks like an great track to run on. The vantage point from the drivers stand must have been sweet.

Sorry to hear of all your bad luck.

Wow! That track looks awesome, man! Sounds like you had a case of "Monkey Wrench Luck", my brother. Sorry to hear about the breakdowns, but it sounds like you had a blast all the same!

Great pictures. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Which truggy were you running?

The new Mugen MBX5T. All I can say is WOW! I liked the Jammin except for the serious lack of on-power steering the Mugen has that and then some. It's a night and day difference between the two. I had the Jammin with me me just in case but it became cannibal truck for my two buddies that were still running the CRT. Once I get the parts back from them it'll be in the f/s section.

Hearing next year's finals might be in TX but there was some speculation that it might be kept in the midwest for logistical reasons.

No crowd??? Was it not open to the public to view? I would have loved to check that action out!! Great pics man. Guess the ban can wait.

LOL

The arena was open but we started practice on tuesday, there wasn't really anyone there until thursday afternoon friday afternoon and then saturday there was about 300 people give or take.

185 ft of back straight...damn that's long...what mill/pipe are you running? and how long did you let it wind out on that? mills had a 130 ft at one time and I had just enough gear to let it rip for about 1/3 of that at WOT...I got scared hearing that after the 3/4 tank lean out.....

I was running my Nova 528XR with a 14 tooth CB. I had it pinned the whole straight. I actually drove over the top of another truck that had about 1/3rd straight on me. I had no problem making the triple in front after the 180. The whole front stretch n front of pit road was whoops. Most of the Pro drivers were running modded .21's and Chad Bradley was running the new V-Spec with the Magnesium head that is due out soon. He was amazing to watch in the triple doubles after the triple and off camber turn, everyone was doing double-double-double, Bradley was doing triple-double-single early on when the traction was still real good.

SHHHHWWIIIIIIINGGGGGGG!!!!

Those photos give me WOOD!

Damn, that's sweet....great vantage point to drive and an insane track!!

Jet: Funny how some days everything goes right...somedays you can break on what seems to be a minor collision?!?!?!

Actually I had back-to-back seasons like that...last year I could do no wrong....this year STUNK!!!

Mr T

Yeah, I ran 5 rounds of practice and ran great. It was the first time I had the MBX5T on track along with one of my friends. We did some tuning and tried a couple of things and were pretty hooked up after the second round. After that minor tweaks and trying different tires.
