hey all ,, this is my 1st post.. just reading everyones postings has been really helpfull...................i just put a rb523 in my revo and have run about 5 tanks of gas..on starting my 6th it wont start i changed the plug, replaced the ez start motor and it just cranks but dosent want to fire ??? i wanted to ditch the ez start but the starter boxes for revo are 120$ ....with the flywheel pitched at an angle do they even work?... and is there a way to tell if the one way bearing is going out ........ thanks

You might try using an external glow plug igniter with the easy start motor, that usually will help. A good glow igniter will run around $20. As far as the One-way bearing I've heard they usually will seize and will not allow the engine to spin. There are probably more things that can go wrong that I'm completely oblivious to. Some of the others may have some other things to help.

i have a glow plug ignighter , and did use it that way, thats what originaly got it running, but now that dosent even work. can the gears in the ez start strip too ?

The EZ-Start gears can strip. With the EZ-Start running and the glow igniter not on the engine, place your thumb near the exhaust opening on the muffler and see if you can feel anything coming out of it. If you can then the EZ-Start is turning the motor. Then we need to check on something else like maybe a bad glow plug.

some times the ez start will make noise but it is not turning the motor.Usualy this is the one way bearing. You can take it out, clean it with nitro cleaner or dentured alcohol and lube it with Mobile One 5W30 full synthetic oil.If all the needle bearings are intact this will buy you some more use.

usualy when the gears strip the peices jam the starter and will not turn.Just had this happen.

You may also need to lean out the HSN a bit to help the starting.Could be to rich from break in.

my 2 cents,hope it helps

Forgot ,as for the starter box and Revo you need to install a different back plate on the engine and the Traxxas bump start larger flywheel.

Easy start works good with the glow ignitor.Make sure you stick pack is charged for turning the new motor will use some juice if its tight.

you guys rock!!!!!!! my one way bearing is missing two little bearings, so I'm going to get one now,,, i am a newbe but i work on cars all day so that helps alittle .... i did buy the bump start back plate and the 40mm flywheel. before i realized my ofna bumpstart wouldent work.....some say the revo bmpstart dident work so i thought i check with you guys................thanks again
