I just got a RB C5 with a black cooling head. I've checked the website and the engines there all have orange cooling heads.

This engine is new but has never been used, so I suspect it is a prior edition of the engine. For those that have been using RB engines for a while, please provide some insight as to which glo plugs, pipe and nitro % will get the best results.

I'm thinking OS A3, 30% Blue Thunder, and Ofna 063 Pipe.

I have never seen a RB with a black head on it
Were did you buy it?

I'm pretty sure the old RB S7's had a black cooling head on them... Use an O'donnell #99 plug & O'donnell 30% race blend, stay away from Blue Thunder, unless you like rust in your engine... As for the pipe, either a O.S. 2050 or a OFNA JP2.

I got it from a friend that's out of the hobby... he never used it. So I offered him $45, and got it from him.

First time I've heard of rust problems with Blue Thunder 30%. I've used it for a while with no problems (or at least none hat I'm aware of).

Thanks for all the info... I'll look into O'donnell fuel...

if you use a good amount of ARO after running w/ Blue thinder you'll be fine....it just the race blend evaps alot faster than most fuels.....I preffer Maxy's 25% myself......get what you're used to.....it's the old "my fuel is better than your fuel" debate....

i was wondering if it was a c5 on road engine. anyway with a c5 try a RB 063 or 086 both work real well also start off with some 1.1 springs until you get it good and broke in and then you can try some diff springs.
