Yes, Atkins for me.
I dropped 20 lbs in 3 weeks.
40 lbs to go.

Please be careful and have your doctor monitor you while you are on this diet. My brother-in-law was on Atkins and shed 40 pounds in 3 months. At the end of his cycle is cholesterol was over 250.

Is there any way you can get more excercise instead of being on this diet? IMO Atkins is the worst way to lose weight, second only to taking methamphetamines. I have seen family and friends go through this terrible back and forth cycle of losing and gaining pounds. It's not a diet you can sustain for the rest of your life.

Hey SD,

Does you father in law make is gnocci with potatos or with traditional dough? I love that stuff.

Tom

Potatoes. Not sure if it's traditional but he is an Italian Mafioso type so I wouldn't dare tell him that dough is traditional. I might wake up the next morning on the docks with cement shoes on. lol

The way he makes it the dumplings just melt in your mouth, they are very soft. I never miss a get together if I know he's cooking gnocci.

I agree that it's not the best way. What I do is this; Atkins for 3 weeks, then modify my diet to eating less then half of what I used to, minus bread.
I will eat more fruit and salads, with chicken and fish.
I won't eat a lot of fatty poop.
I appreciate your concern....I do.

Monkey Wrench, Yes you can sub meat for sausage.
Use the recipe, and make the gravy. You guys will love me for it.

I have never had homemade gnocci before, it sounds fantastic... well I had some while I was in Rome, but it was in a resturaunt so I doubt it was Homemade homemade, but it was good. I saw one of the cooking shows on the Food Network and she called her gnocci traditional and she made it with dough... so that was all I was going on. Thank you for getting me the right info. Man... now I am hungry again! Take care.

Ratzo, be careful with the Atkins. All that protein intake is very hard on the kidneys. When I lost 42lbs (and still maintaining after almost 2 years) all I did was eat healthier. Granted, finding out I was diabetic forced me to do it but change of eating habits to healthier food was key. I never suffered or craved as much as I did in previous attempts.

You got it Diver. Thanks for the advice. I'm not really on it, I just start out on it. I'm now off.

Is anyone making this, this weekend??
I want to hear the results.

I would have done this today if I would have saw this post yesterday! Already have the deer steaks in the oven......

I am going to be printing this out........

Made it last week... The laptop is now a permanent fixture in the bathroom..
Thanks, thanks alot..
