The rule of thumb on the range of a 2.5 GHz radio is that it is line of sight. Usually, if you can see it, the radio can control it.

I tested my TQI to 650 feet without any issue at all. Probably would have went farther but that’s about as far as I can see from an elevated platform to control an rc anyway.
RX antenna was extended completely out of the body with no extra left in the Rx box.
