My Ram arrived the other day, and I'm pretty impressed with how well it's built. It's my first losi rig. I didn't even fool with the 2 week charger it came with and charged the little 7.2 1100 with my trx rx charger. I soon realized the need for the second engine! The handling is pretty forgiving with the rather hard compound tires. The rims where immediately painted black and most of the stickers removed. The little guy likes to jump! I set up a small kicker, maybe six inches high, and it floats level and lands smooth. Very neat toy for $170. Of coarse, I'm already interested in more power. Not brushless yet(I'm on the poop list for the latest $300 I've spent), but maybe a punchier battery. I'm also curious about the optional brushed motors losi offers. Any info would be great.

I'll keep updating as I upgrade. I'll be ordering the second motor next week and hunting for a bigger battery.

The brushless upgrade is only $30. You would also have to update the RX and servo. Losi also has those for about $30.

Since I last posted about the ram, I've picked up a 1500mah dynamite pack and a 1000mah 2s lipo/charger combo. The 1500 woke it up nicely, and the lipo gave it even a little more punch. I noticed cooler motor and esc temps running the lipo. With the added speed, the truck is really squirrelly and I need to practice driving it more. It's great on hard packed dirt; the center diff is really forgiving in corners and with a softer suspension setup, the tires stay planted and the truck keeps pulling where you point it. Run times are about 15 min with the 1500 nimh. The cut off kicked in after about 10 minutes withe the lipo. And it seems to run for 20-25 with the stock 1100 mah losi sport battery it came with. I figure this is due to a small discharge rate because the truck is really quite slow with the stock battery. I'm choosing a brushless kit today.
