Alot of people asked me to make a hood scoop, using real manufacturing techniques, instead of the old dryer hood vent. It came out pretty good. I'll have to get some pictures on a few different cars and T-Maxxes. I think the on-road folks would like it too.

What's the dimensions and what will it weigh?

EDIT: Nice piece BTW!

What do you use to keep it secure, locknuts?
You should also offer one made of lexan to save weight. I'd buy a lexan scoop.....

The weight is 0.9 ounces for the hood and the backing plate. The size is 2.050" wide x 2.550" long x 0.49 thick.

I made this from aluminum, since you can punch the aluminum louvers. I never tried to form lexan like that.

I'm using button head cap screws and lock nuts to secure it.

looks great. how much would it cost? also how much bashing with that thing hold up to?

Dude that looks nice man. On something like the savage that has an open cooling head design well at least for pick up truck bodies what kind of real advantage does that offer. With excursion and hummer type bodies I can see the benefits. Hmm now to build a paint scheme around that thing. Nice work none the less

As far as real cooling advantages, I don't know how good it will work. But, it looks great in Chrome. I'll post some pics of my customers mounting.

It will last fine during bashing. It is .05 thick aluminum, and the louvers stiffen it up.

It would be nice to have one in smaller dimensions to fit different applications also.... like in a 1.5'' X 2''.

Chrome shipping today

Thanks to everyone that ordered, the Chrome ones shipped out today. I also updated the picture to show the Chrome version:

Thanks, Rob

Are you planning to have a podwer coated version available so that it can be painted?

I have 2 left over in raw aluminum if you want to paint them yourself. PM me if you want me to save them for you.
