I'm thinking about getting a futaba 3pm-fm radio and reciver with fasst? is this good for a tmaxx or is there somthing better ? and what about servos? i was thinking hitech but what one's. I'm stiching from paintball to r/c and I'm a total nub so please HELP!

the futaba 3pm does not support fasst. The next model up from it does. (the number isn't coming to mind) The 3pm gives you decent range and many user defined options. Its what i currently have and its a great radio for a beginner-intermediate.

As far as servo's go, hitec makes some great products. The 645mg is very popular and is probably the best bang for the buck servo around. It should handle tmaxx steering with no problem. Just throw a nice kimbrough servo saver on it and call it a day. As far as throttle goes, you will notice an obvious difference with a high speed one once you have been driving a normal one for awhile. I would stay with stock for the time being and replace them when they start to fail on you.

ahhh, sorry bout that. the older 3pm-fm isn't upgradeable. I assumed since he said 3pm-fm that he was talking about the old one.
