is it just me or is the traxxas radio gear shockin, there doesn't seem much power in the steering servo and it goes out of range after 50-60 meters. is this normal or do i just have dodgy gear???? what would be a good up grade??

oh its a smaxx with the standard am set up

i would switch to a 2.4ghz radio...you wont regret it ......are you using a 5 cell hump pack or a 4 AA cell holder ??? might just need a bit more juice

na man I'm just using bog standard double a batterys in receiver and hand set. probably the start of my problems

I agree with Mac, switch to a 5 cell hump pack for your RX . well worth the money and adds a true 6V to the servo's.
as far as radio's go to 2.4G system, i use Spektrum DX3S and i love it.
has built in dail safe and works awsome

My range is probably only about 50 to 75 yards, I'm not sure how that converts to metric, but I think it's pretty close to what yours is. I have a hump pack for my RX, and the servos don't seem weak. I don't really know how much of a difference it makes, though, because I upgraded to the hump pack right after I got my truck so I could save money on AA batteries.
