Since I couldn't find an "Event Announcement" forum, this looked to be the least inappropriate place for this.

I just got email from the event coordinator at the Oakland (Ca) Parks &
Rec yesterday and she informed me that they are having their second
Radical Wheels event at the end of July on Friday 27th from 8am to
9pm. There is plenty of time to show up in the evening for those of us
working and a lot of time for those still on vacation. The Friday date
was chosen as they wanted to get the summer camps and youth groups out
there for a day activity and then hope the kids get their parents to
bring them back.

For those who made it to the last one, you saw the potential for
some serious R/C on-road action. The track was a bit small, but serviceable for the kids driving the electrics around. And not to forget the guys from NorCal hobbies getting 30' of air off the skateboard quarter-pipes with their
Revos. It was just plain sick to see. You can take a look at the http://www.oaklandnet.com/parks/news/events.asp?dwnFile=/parks/0/doc/022707_oprrw_flyer.pdf last flier and see what went on last time.

This time around, they are looking to expand their on-road course and actually get a pile of people to come out and run. The entire event is pretty much an all-you-can-eat scene. $7 gets you in the door and you can run cars, ride the go-karts and use the skateboard 'park' all you want. All you with the 1/5th scale gassers, you need to show up and represent!

I'll try and post info on RCN as it comes my way. The most current info will always be at www.oaklandrc.net.

BTW, if the moderator knows which forum this should go in, please move it there and let me know.

Thread moved to appropriate forum.

I just received the flyer from Oakland Parks&Rec for the event. It got moved to the 28th of this month (A Saturday) so no one has an excuse to stay at home.

Bring out all your rigs and we can show the city how big this hobby, nay obsession, is in the area.

A pdf of the flyer is on the Oakland R/C website

We have very firm commitments from Custom Street Toyz (Hayward) to bring some of their hopped up Go-Peds and 1/5th scale on-road racers for the track.

RC Outlaws will also be there with their 35+ scale nitro dragsters. There should be a 300' drag strip ready for them. Even if you don't come out, this sight is not be missed.
