and when i go on the track, i like to put thicker shock oil in the shocks to reduce the roll.
The tuning of shock oil effects the damping properties of the shock, not roll. To reduce roll a stiffer spring is in order
IF using a heavier shock oil IS making a difference in spring rate that means the resistance of the piston passing thru the oil is actually greater than the resistance of the spring itself. That is a sure fire way to blow out a shock.
The oil is meant to soften the bumping effect that the spring encounters so that the vehicle chassis can remain relatively level instead of bouncing or "pogo-ing".
Yeah i did, is the servo the only thing I can do to it? doesn't it only have a certain degree of travel?
O thanks. some guy on RCU told me that thicker oil would help. another reason i dont like that site. QUOTE]
I know for rock crawlers you use heavier oil for a less reactive (less movement/roll) ride. I would assume that would be the same for chassis roll in a "fast" vehicle. He is probably right that it would put stress on the shock when you have hard/fast impacts. That is why you use a higher flow piston though.
It's very nice. It has in it a AXIAL .32 engine with barely any run time, Futaba Magnum computer radio, a Hitec 645MG as the steering, stock as the throttle/brake and a Micro ofna fail safe. Looking into it more I find It's got a rechargeable hump pack, and a buggy like steering setup! Sweet! Its got a 3 speed tranny along with the old two speed, Extended Lowed CG TVP's, Still with the original TVP's, I have a set of Integy tires that are 23mm hex's, and a set of big tires with a flame like design that are 14mm, and a set of chevrons that are 17mm. It's got the X radio box/tray too. Then it's also got aluminum bottom A-arms and body mounts. And I'm sure theres more but I just can't remember. The thing is a BEAST! :bow:Lets see how it does on a track...... 250? If yes then damn thats a good deal
