Raced a T-Maxx 2.5 Yesterday...

Kind of funny actually. My truck is an SS with HB pipe, MS filter and Envy 3-shoe clutch. Ported and polished header. 15/49 gears.

Anyways. We ran them on my long concrete driveway and he takes off before I do. When the SS hit 2nd it caught him really quickly and he crossed over into the path of my truck. It jumped completely over the Maxx.

The Maxx has a full cage on it and makes a awsome rolling ramp.....LOL

His freind came over and wanted us to line them up. He didn't see the race. The Maxx driver said, " We just did. He caught me so fast he jumped my *&^^&%$# truck!"

Wished we had video'd that one. Was funny as hail to see.

I still think on a long run his Maxx would probably have better top-end but off the line the 25 is torky. I'm geared for low-end anyway.

that sounds like you had some fun. i wish i had someone to drive with. well my cousin has a hpi rs4 mt but if i barely hit him his care like brakes so i dont wanna drive around him anymore cause I'm not the best driver. well later.

Robriguez & I will be doing our own test of what truck is faster soon. He still breaking in his Savage .25 he just got for his B-day. Until then my Maxx is waiting to beat his ass!

It all depends on the Maxx. I would like to have seen a race between stock MT's. I know there are BB Maxxes out there with plenty of HP's. Its all subjective. But with that all aside. It must have been fun to watch.

Reminds me of the time I was racing a tmaxx with my BB HPI Micro and we were ripping down the street and my Micro started to actually drive under the Tmaxx. It looked like one of those Hollywood stunts. Now thats some video I wish I would have taken.

my m8 came round yesterday and i raced him with my savage 25rtr stock with 16% model techs fuel and his t-maxx .18 sirio and bb pipe, 18tcb, and on 30% trinity,

to start with i had quicker reactions than him and beat him until 20feet then he caught me up,
but when our reaction times were about the same his did only just pull away from mine.

I've now got mine on 20% blue thunder and i've put a ribbed tuned pipe and this thing really flies, i think i may beat him this time lol

simf40. If you get a chance sometime, try the HB pipe. I was running the ribbed pipe and switched to a one-piece XTM pipe, then I got a deal on a HB pipe I couldn't "understand" so I bought it.

The XTM has a little better torque and easier tuning but the HB picked it up alot on top end. Being I'm geared 15/49, this seems to be the best set-up for my SS so far.



Yeah....We had a blast Saturday. Had 4 trucks show up. 3 Maxxes and the SS. We've got a "SlaMaFro.com" Style ramp set up for some major air and plenty of room.

I need to move the ramp to another spot in the yard because that area is getting pretty worn.:whhooo:

We're always getting into the "Ford Chevy" thing amongst us. Makes it fun.

I need to see If I can talk my GF into video'ing our bash sessions. Something comical seems to always happen.

hey i have a maxx and i love it but i would have to say the savage is a better truck imean traxxas has gotta put a 21 in their cars soon because a monster truck with a 15 is pathetic
btw i am geting a sirio 18 soon but still i kno a savage would be the way to go if i had to buy another truck.

Totally stock, the Maxx is faster if it has the TRX2.5, that engine is truly ballistic. The Savage S25 or Savage21 would probably lose with the stock gearing. On a racetrack, that would be the other way around, I would bet on the Savage, and the maxx wouldnt last. Ever since the savage came out, the monster truck racing class is about 8/4 8savagesm 4tmaxxes, you can have your own opinion.
