Race tracks in NYC?

Hey Is there any race tracks in the NYC area. Please help, I hate traveling 2 hours just to get to a race track. I would love it if there is one near Staten Island.

You know it seems to me that everywhere else in this f$%&ing country has race tracks except NYC. Now NYC supposed to be one of the best cites in the country. It has everything from $2 hookers to $5000 hookers, we even have little towns in Manhattan called "China town," and "little Italy," now where else are you going to walk around the block and feel like your in China, nowhere except China. But we might have all that, except a race track. Now someone please tell me that I'm wrong and there is one real close to my house.

yo-- i am working on acquiring a piece of land in staten island to convert it to a nice track-- one for cars, the other for monster trucks-- dont hold ya breath though-- this could take a year or so-- but I'm trying---its on the south side-- more towards tottenville-- dont know where ya from-- but thats where i am looking-- peace

Hey bigsez that sounds great, I live in bulls Head / willowbrook. So when do you plan on doing this. All land on SI is extremely expensive. I mean major money. But if you could do it, I’ll be right there ready to race.
My brother and I were thinking about opening a track, but money is a big issue.
All I’m saying is that we need a race track bad, we don’t have any at all.
And Team17 that sounds great, as soon as this horrible weather leaves us, I'll throw you an e-mail. Also where do you guys race?
You know you really don't need that much space, maybe we could come up with an idea. What if we write to the Staten Island President about the problem that we are having, I know it sounds impossible but we have nothing to lose. I bet if I get the address and post this problem on this forum, and ask for everybody to send in a letter demanding a track; that might help. I know I sound crazy, but we have nothing to lose.
Unless we all get together and build one ourselves.

Me and Robriguez bash our off-roads at construction sites or at baseball fields. We will be racing this year both on & off-roads at Jackson, NJ right by Great Adventure. And I'll be racing my on-road at Edison, NJ.

bdutch-- i know that land is expensive and all-- but there are a couple of ideas i am looking into-- in tottenville there is alot of unused prop-- i am gonna write the parks dept a letter to see if some of the land can be had or if there is some way to make a club that uses the prop or something-- its crazy -- every nice day this past week i have been bashing all over si and it blows with no track-- we'll get there eventually-- ill keep ya posted on it and see what happens-- but do u think there are enough people to keep a club up and running-- prob need about 50-100 ppl and have to make it a fee for a year to join for use of the track anytime---

bigsez- I think so, I mean if a track opens up on SI, you have the whole city, not just SI. You even have people from Jersey to come over. And the reason for that is because the closest track is at least 1hr way. If you get me the address to the parks dept. I will right a letter too.
Do you race your car at night, my bro. and I go to the mall parking lot or waldbuams parking lot by the SI hotel. We usually go around midnight. I was there last night with my menace, before you know it we had a little fan club. Some idiot wanted to race my brother, he also has a menace. This guy had some big ass truck with a .26 in it. The guy insisted that he was going to win. Well, lets just say, he was lucky we didn't race for money.
Anyway, get me that address, and I will send in a few hundred letters, I work at a computer all day and do nothing. And any nice nights, I'll most likely be at the waldbuams parking lot. So meet me there....

dbutch-- ill send you all the info so you can send out all of your letters-- ill come by the waldbaums one day this weekend or week-- i live 2 mins from it-- anyways like i was telling you-- a guy i know buys alot of property on si and i was talking to him and he is going to see what he can do for me as far as getting some prop-- he told me he has a few options and i am going to look at some things with him this week-- so hopefully i ll have some news by next week-- if i do get the prop-- it should be pretty interesting-- i got some wild ideas for it-- anyways what type of nitro u got--

Hey, that sounds great. Now just to let you know, the only time my brother and I will be there, is when we wont freeze to death. I just bought the Menace 21. I'm having a little trouble controling it because it is so fast, but I'm getting better.
My brother who you will prob see almost every night there, has the Menace 21, T-Maxx, RS4, and something else that he is working on.
So what type of nitro do you have? also if you live 2 min from walbaums tha means you live really close to me. I live right next to the unicorn dinner, how far are you from there.
(I feel like i'm making a date with somone)LOL So just to let everyone know I have a GF for 8 years and she hates this hobby. I just thought I had to share that with everyone. She told me that it is childish. (Oh yeah we were fighting) But she dont realize if I didnt have this hobby, she would be dead. LOL. Does anyone else have this problem with there GF's or Wives?

dbutch-- very new to the hobby-- i bought a monster gt-- and i am in the process of supping it up-- i used to have older rc cars like the grasshopper and poop like that-- just getting back into it-- anyways i live in heartland village-- and my wife hates that i play with "toys" as she wouls say-- but f@@k her-- anyways -- and i dont care if i freeze to death running the cars-- anything to get the fiddlesticks out the house
